Job summary

Hewlett Packard Enterprise in Bengaluru (India) is seeking an experienced Software Engineer 3 for the Forwarding Engineering team. The role focuses on architecting, designing and developing high‑performance forwarding software for Merchant ASIC platforms.

You will work with Broadcom Qumran/Jericho, contribute to L2 switching and forwarding, and help deliver cutting edge features. The role requires strong coding skills, a solid grasp of computer architecture and a track record in network software

Qualifications

• Good knowledge of Router/Switch architecture.
• Experience in L2 Switching/Forwarding, L2, SFLOW, IPFIX, MC-LAG, LAG.
• Understanding of system architecture for network processor based products.
• Experience in design/development of forwarding software.
• Prior experience with Broadcom ASICs like Qumran/Jericho is highly desirable.

What you need to bring:

Education and Experience Required:

• Good knowledge of Router/Switch architecture.
• Prior work experience in any one of the domains:
• L2 Switching/Forwarding, L2, SFLOW, IPFIX, MC-LAG, LAG
• Understanding of system architecture for network processor based products
• Experience in design/development of forwarding software
• Prior experience with Broadcom ASICs like Qumran/Jericho is highly desirable

Skills Required

• Experience in trouble-shooting problems in actual customer network deployments or in complex lab topologies will be a plus
• Strong Coding and debugging skills with extensive experience in core file analysis
• Around 5-10 years of experience, preferably in a router/switch company.
• A strong understanding of concepts related to computer architecture, data structures and programming practices is desirable.
• A Bachelor/Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.
