Job summary

Qualys is seeking a talented Java software engineer to join our team in Pune. You will prototype, design, develop, and support a highly scalable SaaS-based cloud security platform, collaborating with engineers and architects to deliver robust microservices.

You will work on cloud-native solutions across AWS/Azure/GCP/OCI, implement distributed systems, and write automated tests while adhering to quality standards and documentation practices.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of professional Java development experience.
• Experience with Spring Boot and microservices architecture.
• Good understanding of relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., Cassandra, Elasticsearch).
• Experience with indexing (ElasticSearch) and caching (Redis or Memcached).
• Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms and software design principles.
• Experience with cloud-native development across AWS/Azure/GCP/OCI is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Research, prototype and develop solutions to innovate and improve Qualys technology platform.
• Develop cloud-native solutions across major public clouds (AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI).
• Design and implement distributed, scalable microservice-based applications.
• Produce high-quality software with scalable architecture and design principles.
• Write unit/integration tests and document code, design decisions, and solutions.

Responsibilities

• Research, prototype and develop solutions to innovate and improve Qualys' technology platform.
• Research and develop cloud native solutions across available public clouds e.g. AWS, AZURE, GCP, OCI etc.
• Design and implement distributed, scalable, high-performance micro service-based applications
• Produce high-quality software with a scalable architecture and design principles
• Write unit/integration tests for your code
• Document your code, design and provide solutions

Requisite Qualifications

• Strong problem solving, analytical and communication skills
• Excellent programming and designing skills in Java with minimum 2+ years of professional experience developing applications using Spring Boot / micro-services.
• Good understanding of relational databases and/or NoSQL DB, preferably Cassandra, Elasticsearch
• Professional experience working on indexing technology like Elastic Search and caching technologies like Redis or Memcached
• Good understanding of data structures and algorithms, application design.
• Professional experience developing software using micro services oriented architecture.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands on knowledge of public cloud providers like AWS/Azure/GCP/OCI
• Bachelor or Masters degree in Computer Science
• Professional experience with Jenkins, and Kubernetes
• Experience working on compliance, audit, governance, risk management, or regulatory compliance products is an added advantage.
