Software Enabling and Optimization Engineer Job Details: Job Description: The Role and Impact As a Software Enabling and Optimization Engineer, you will play a vital role in driving Intel's value and differentiation by collaborating with customers, software vendors, and the open-source community to develop, optimize, and integrate software solutions tailored for Intel products. Your work will directly impact numerous domains such as Audio, AI and adjacent technologies by enhancing software performance and ensuring seamless adoption of Intel technologies. On a day-to-day basis, you will engage in debugging, tuning, and testing software while delivering innovative solutions that optimize customer experiences and product capabilities.

Business group The Silicon and Platform Engineering Group (SPE) focuses on advancing Intel's hardware and software platforms through innovation and collaboration. This team drives product development, testing, and optimization to support Intel's strategic goals in diverse markets, including enterprise, cloud, and edge computing. Joining SPE means contributing to Intel's mission of delivering cutting-edge technology solutions to its global ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive customer enabling activities for Intel client platforms across Audio, Computer Vision, Camera, and other software ingredients.
• Execute Platform POR features and ensure successful platform bring-up, validation, and customer adoption.
• Debug and resolve complex platform issues spanning hardware, firmware, BIOS, operating systems, drivers, middleware, and applications.
• Serve as a technical focal point for customer-reported issues, driving root cause analysis and resolution across internal and external stakeholders.
• Partner with Microsoft and other OS vendors to investigate and resolve operating system, driver, and platform integration issues.
• Collaborate with third-party ecosystem partners including Codec Vendors, Camera Vendors, ISVs, IHVs, ODMs, and OEM customers to drive feature integration and issue resolution.
• Collect, analyze, and refine requirements for next-generation solutions and topologies.
• Define proof-of-concepts (POCs) and technical evaluations for emerging platform technologies and customer use cases.
• Develop technical collaterals, enabling guides, debug methodologies, knowledge repositories, and issue triage frameworks to accelerate customer adoption and support.
• Manage Audio and multimedia validation labs, including debug equipment, test infrastructure, and platform readiness activities.
• Drive cross-functional collaboration with firmware, BIOS, driver, validation, architecture, and platform engineering teams to resolve customer escalations.
• Provide technical leadership during customer engagements, workshops, design reviews, and issue resolution meetings.
• Evangelize and provide technical guidance on Intel tools and technologies to enable adoption across various domains.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronic, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Four or more years of hands‑on experience in software development, testing, and optimization with demonstrated expertise in debugging(WinDBG, Visual Studio, trace analysis tools, and platform logs) and performance tuning.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, Python, or similar.
• Familiarity with software development workflows and tools, such as IDEs, debuggers, and version control systems,
• Understanding of software development lifecycles, product development processes, and customer engagement models.
• Experience working with hardware-software integration and optimization techniques.
• Experience in one or more technology domains including: Audio, Camera / Imaging, Computer Vision, Artificial Intelligence or similar
• Strong knowledge of Audio subsystem architecture, Audio Controllers, DSPs, Audio Codecs, and Audio driver stacks.
• Solid understanding of System-on-Chip (SoC) and platform architecture.
• Good understanding of device driver architecture and driver frameworks, preferably Windows Driver Frameworks (KMDF/UMDF).

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in a relevant field with three or more years of professional experience.
• Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate across diverse teams and stakeholders.
• Knowledge of emerging technologies and industry trends.
• Ability to gather, define, document, and communicate technical requirements across engineering, architecture, marketing, and ecosystem teams.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
