Amazon is seeking a Software Development Manager for Appstore Developer Experience to re-build APIs and the web/mobile interfaces used by thousands of third-party developers. Software Development Manager, Appstore Developer Experience, Appstore Developer Experience Team

Join our team to power Amazon Fire TV and Fire Tablets Appstore to enable millions of customers to discover, purchase, and enjoy digital content. As a Software Development Manager on the Appstore Developer experience team, you will lead the re-building of Appstore’s developer experience. You will lead re-building of net new APIs for 3P developer’s to manage their apps and games, web interface https://developer.amazon.com/apps-and-games and mobile app which is used by 1000’s of 3P developers serving millions of customers. You will lead re-architecture of scalable software solutions and services, and will be part of technical leadership team of Amazon Appstore development center, India.

Key job responsibilities

• Lead the team responsible for the developer experience on multiple OS like Fire OS and Vega OS across TV, Tablets and mult i-modal devices like Echo show
• Build and maintain APIs that empower developers to seamlessly test their apps and submit them to store.
• Lead AI native PODs for swift development and cultural transformation of teams.
• Drive technical excellence in mission-critical testing workflows that must deliver 99.99% reliability.
• Partner with product, business intelligence, developer relations and external 3P developers.
• Mentor and grow a team of 10+ talented engineers working on distributed systems at Amazon scale.
• Shape the technical roadmap for next-generation experiences on emerging Amazon devices.
• Solve complex challenges at the intersection of scale, security, compliance, and user experience.

Basic Qualifications

• 7+ years of engineering experience
• 3+ years of engineering team management experience
• 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
• Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
• Experience partnering with product or program management teams
• Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
• Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
