Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Software Development Engineer for its Risk Management team in Karnataka. The role focuses on building scalable internet-scale systems, leveraging cloud and Gen AI technologies, and owning end-to-end design and delivery of risk evaluation capabilities that protect millions of customers daily.

The engineer will design and maintain microservices, improve onboarding experiences, and participate in on-call rotations to ensure system reliability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of design/architecture experience in large-scale systems.
• 3+ years of SDLC including code reviews, source control, build, test and operations.
• Experience with Gen AI technologies and on-call rotations.

The Core Services team owns the charter of evaluating bad actor risk of all kinds (Buyer, Seller, Brand, Vendor) across entities such as Orders, Returns, Sign-ins, Listings and any event that will be useful to evaluate risky behavior. We build self-service capabilities to experiment and launch new use cases while making it easy to on-board and manage existing ones all over the world. We are the gate keepers of customer trust by preventing bad actors from doing damage to good customers or scamming Amazon. The problems we solve will challenge the best in terms of scale (100s of billion evaluations) and latency (think milliseconds) while operating at the lowest cost

As the Software Development Engineer, you will design, enhance and maintain mission critical systems leveraging best of breed technologies with AI first mindset. Successful candidates will be strong leaders who have a hunger to learn, are righteous owners, demonstrate superior deep dive and problem-solving skills, communicate clearly, and have a consistent track record of delivery.

Basic Qualifications

• 5+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
