Expedia Group invites applications for its APAC Summer Internship Program as a Software Development Engineer Intern. You will join an inclusive, global tech team contributing to high-volume web applications and e-commerce platforms across Expedia Group brands.

Qualifications

• Must be available to commit to the full program dates (APAC: May/June 2027).
• Must be graduating with an undergraduate or master’s degree in a technical subject between December 2027 and July 2028.
• Must be willing to relocate to the city of the job location if outside commuting distance and be graduating from a university in the same country as the internship location.
• Must have no more than 2 years of professional experience in a similar role and demonstrate familiarity with at least one programming or scripting language and fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, OOP).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test software components and services under the guidance of more experienced engineers, contributing to well-scoped features and improvements.
• Implement clean, maintainable code using standard software engineering practices, including unit testing, code reviews, and basic debugging.
• Participate in low-level system design, API design, and data modeling for assigned tasks, translating requirements into technical solutions.
• Collaborate with peers, mentors, and cross-functional partners to understand requirements and deliver incremental value.
• Apply data structures, algorithms, and problem-solving techniques to improve code quality, performance, and reliability.
• Leverage AI-driven systems and safely integrating AI/ML-enabled solutions to improve outcomes within defined scope.

Expedia Group has multiple Engineering specializations. The specializations we could be hiring for are below. You will have the opportunity to express interest in any of these specializations during the application process:

• Software Development - Design and launchFrontend, Backend, and Full Stack solutionsimpactingcritical business systems.

• Data Engineering -Design scalable, cloud-native solutions with a focus on DevOps and automation.

• Machine Learning Engineering- Design and build and support scalable ML systems and pipelines, with exposure to production machine learning practices such as CI/CD, testing, validation, reproducibility, and monitoring

Internship Program Highlights:

• Week 1 Orientation: Connect with your cohort, receive support, and set up for success in your first week Role-specific technical and professional skills learning, both in-person and virtual, delivered in your first week to help you get set up for success

• Meaningful work and projects: Interns join a variety of Expedia Group teams and directly contribute to business workstreams and priorities; at the conclusion of the internship interns present their work to team members and senior leadership

In this role you will:

From the back-end supply and database functions to new user interfaces for more than 140 branded travel sites, there is no shortage of opportunity for technical innovation at Expedia Group.

PreferredQualifications:
