Job summary

AMD is seeking a Software Development Engineer (Python / C++) to strengthen the performance of key applications and benchmarks. The ideal candidate will combine strong Python and C++ skills with Linux development experience and the ability to lead across teams.

You will work on concurrent programming, debugging tools, and modern software processes. A BS/MS in CS/EE/CE with 7+ years is preferred; applicants with 8+ years are welcome.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in CS, EE or CE with 7+ years of software development experience.
• Strong Python and C++ development background with exposure to large design patterns based codebase.
• Experience with Linux, concurrency/ threading APIs.
• Experience with GitHub, debuggers and profilers; knowledge of software development processes.
• Ability to communicate effectively and lead multiple projects across teams.

SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER (Python / C++)

THE ROLE:

AMD is looking for a specialized software engineer who is passionate about improving the performance of key applications and benchmarks.

THE PERSON:

The ideal candidate should be passionate about software engineering and possess leadership skills to drive sophisticated issues to resolution. Able to communicate effectively and work optimally with different teams across AMD.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Strong scripting & object-oriented programming background in Python, Automation scripts/flows.
• Experience in writing C++ code and maintain codebase
• Ability to write high quality code with a keen attention to detail
• Experience with modern concurrent programming and threading APIs
• Experience with Linux operating system development
• Experience with software development processes and tools such as debuggers, source code control systems (GitHub) and profilers is a plus
• Effective communication and problem-solving skills
• Motivating leader with good interpersonal skills

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• Experience in a hands-on software engineering, development roles
• B.E/B.Tech/B.S or M.E/MS in CS, EE or CE with 8+ years of software development experience
• Solid knowledge of software fundamentals
• Strong Python and other Development background and exposure to large design patterns based codebase
• Background in EDA tools preferred
• Consistent record in engineering execution, delivery software on time with high quality and achieving premium high-performance software solutions
• Proven track record of planning and delivering complex system software products
• Experience leading multiple projects with competing priorities
• Strong project management skills and experience with project management techniques such as scheduling, budgeting, and risk management
• Disciplined approach to problem solving and ability to make business decisions in a technical environment
• Strong Interpersonal, verbal, and written skills
• Self-motivated with an ability to multi-task

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

• BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Electrical or Computer Engineering with 7+ years of experience
