Job summary

Amadeus in Bengaluru, India is seeking a Software Development Engineer - Java to design, develop and maintain distributed applications with a focus on high performance and reliability. • Extensive hands‑on experience in Java development.
• Strong knowledge of microservices architecture and modern frameworks.
• Experience with distributed systems, performance tuning, and fault tolerance.
• Familiarity with cloud environments (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
• Exposure to messaging/streaming platforms such as Apache Kafka.
• Skills in NoSQL data modeling (Couchbase or similar).
• Understanding of containerized deployments and Kubernetes.
• Comfortable supporting production environments and participating in on‑call rotations.

In this role, you'll

• Design, develop, and maintain distributed applications that deliver high performance and reliability.
• Build scalable microservices using Java and Spring Boot, following modern development best practices (JDK 17 and above).
• Develop and optimize REST APIs and backend services for high availability and scalability.
• Collaborate on technical design and architecture discussions to shape robust solutions.
• Monitor and troubleshoot complex systems, including application, container, and Kubernetes layers.
• Work with messaging and streaming technologies (e.g., Apache Kafka) to ensure efficiency and reliability.
• Participate in code reviews and encourage best practices for quality, security, and performance.
• Support production systems, contributing to incident resolution in a collaborative manner.
• Mentor team members by sharing knowledge and promoting continuous improvement.
• Facilitate Agile events such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, and retrospectives.

Your Profile

• Extensive hands‑on experience in software development using Java.
• Strong knowledge of microservices architecture and modern frameworks.
• Experience with distributed systems, performance tuning, and fault tolerance.
• Familiarity with cloud environments (e.g., Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform).
• Exposure to messaging/streaming platforms such as Apache Kafka.
• Skills in NoSQL data modeling (Couchbase or similar technologies).
• Understanding of containerized deployments and Kubernetes.
• Comfortable supporting production environments and participating in on‑call rotations when needed.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and facilitating team collaboration (Scrum Master experience is a plus).
