Job summary

FORVIA HELLA in Gurugram, India, is seeking a Senior SDET with 6–8+ years' experience to design and develop scalable test automation across UI, API, and end-to-end testing. The role blends software engineering, test automation, CI/CD, cloud, and AI-assisted development, with a strong emphasis on Python and modern automation frameworks.

You will build reusable frameworks, integrate tests with Jenkins and GitLab pipelines, work in AWS environments, and mentor teammates in an Agile setup.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Strong Python programming and object‑oriented design skills.
• Hands-on experience with Pytest and test automation architectures.
• Experience with Selenium and/or Playwright; Appium is a plus.
• REST API testing and automation expertise.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab) and scripting.
• Knowledge of HTML/CSS and web fundamentals.
• Excellent debugging, analytical, and collaborative skills.

About The Role

We are looking for a Senior SDET with 6–8+ years of relevant experience to design and develop scalable test automation solutions across UI, API, system integration, and end-to-end testing.

The role combines software engineering, test automation, CI/CD, cloud, and AI-assisted development. The ideal candidate is a strong Python developer with hands‑on experience in modern automation frameworks and a mindset for continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable and reusable test automation frameworks and architectures.
• Define and implement test automation strategies, including appropriate test levels, coverage, and risk-based testing.
• Develop automated tests for UI, API, system integration, and end-to-end testing.
• Build automation using Python, Pytest, Selenium, Playwright, and Appium.
• Integrate automated testing into Jenkins and GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
• Improve automation coverage, stability, execution efficiency, and reporting.
• Work with AWS-based environments to support scalable test execution.
• Use PowerShell and scripting to automate test execution, environment setup, and supporting engineering tasks.
• Use GitHub Copilot and AI/LLM-based tools for code generation, test creation, debugging, refactoring, and test analysis.
• Explore and implement AI-driven approaches to improve test automation and engineering productivity.
• Collaborate with developers, testers, architects, and product teams in an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Mentor team members and contribute to automation strategy and technology evolution.

Your Qualifications

• 6–8+ years of relevant experience in software testing, test automation, or SDET
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field, such as
• B.Tech/B.E. in Computer Science, MCA, or M.Tech/M.Sc. in Computer Science.
• Strong Python programming and object‑oriented design skills.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Pytest.
• Experience designing test automation architecture, frameworks, reusable components, and test strategies.
• Strong experience with Selenium and/or Playwright; Appium experience is an advantage.
• Strong experience in REST API testing and automation.
• Practical experience with Jenkins, GitLab, and Git.
• Working knowledge of PowerShell or scripting for automation and engineering tasks.
• Basic working knowledge of AWS and cloud-based environments.
• Hands‑on experience with GitHub Copilot or similar AI‑assisted development tools.
• Good understanding of software testing, QA methodologies, and quality engineering practices.
• Good working knowledge of HTML/CSS.
• Strong analytical, debugging, and problem‑solving skills.
• Good communication and collaboration skills.

Good-to-Have

• System Integration Testing (SIT) experience.
• Performance testing experience.
• Experience with AI‑driven test automation or LLM‑based testing solutions.
• Docker/containerization experience.
• Automotive domain knowledge.
