Job summary

CSG Systems is seeking a Software Development Engineer II in Bengaluru, India. The role involves designing, developing, and testing high-quality software products, collaborating with stakeholders and adhering to Agile principles.

You will work with mainframe technologies including assembler, JCL, COBOL, and DB2, with exposure to Java and Python. This position supports a hybrid/remote work arrangement in a dynamic team environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3-6 years of coding experience in Mainframe Assembler or TPF.
• Experience analyzing, developing, testing and collaborating in Agile environments.
• Familiarity with DB2/files concepts and mainframe assembler development.
• JCL and COBOL knowledge are added advantages.

Responsibilities

• Design, code, and test software applications for assigned items under guidance.
• Debug and fix software issues and support troubleshooting during development and tests.
• Analyze requirements and implement low-complexity technical solutions.
• Support mainframe assembler development activities.
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and sprint activities.

In this role, you will contribute to the design, development, and testing of high-quality software products, collaborating with various stakeholders and adhering to Agile principles.

Responsibilities

• You will be involved in designing, coding, and testing software applications for assigned work items under guidance from senior developers.
• You will debug and fix software issues under supervision, and support troubleshooting of application or system issues during development and testing.
• You will analyze clearly defined business or system requirements and implement low-complexity technical solutions for assigned modules or tasks.
• You will support mainframe assembler development activities,
• You will participate in code reviews, design discussions, backlog or sprint activities, and learn development best practices and professional concepts from senior team members.
• You will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and team members to clarify requirements, communicate progress, and raise blockers early.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
• 3-6 years of Coding experience in Mainframe Assembler or TPF is required.
• Analysis, developing, testing, validation and collaborative approach are all part of daily activities.
• Assembler Provide QA support
• JAVA & Python knowledge is an advantage.
• Experience working in Agile is an advantage
• Ability to work within defined coding standards, development guidelines, and security or quality expectations.
• Exposure to mainframe assembler development concepts.
• Familiarity with DB2/files concepts and technical problem solving.
• Willingness to learn ACP/CCS business and system knowledge relevant to assigned responsibilities.
• Mainframe Assembler Programming Java knowledge is an added advantage
• JCL and COBOL knowledge are added advantages
