Job summary

CSG is seeking a Software Development Engineer I in India (Remote). The role involves designing, coding, and testing software with guidance from senior engineers, following Agile practices.

You will contribute to mainframe/modern software, debug issues, and collaborate across teams to deliver quality products. The position requires a CS/SE degree and 2–4 years of Mainframe Assembler/TPF coding experience, with Java/Python advantageous.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2-4 years of coding experience in Mainframe Assembler or TPF is required.
• Experience with agile development, code reviews, and collaborative work environments.
• Familiarity with DB2 and file concepts; knowledge of JCL/COBOL is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, code, and test software applications for assigned work items under guidance from senior developers.
• Debug and fix software issues; support troubleshooting during development and testing.

As a Software Development Engineer, I at CSG, with 3-5 years' experience to join our dynamic team at CSG Systems, Inc. In this role, you will contribute to the design, development, and testing of high-quality software products, collaborating with various stakeholders and adhering to Agile principles.

We are looking for Software Development Engineer I who will:

• You will be involved in designing, coding, and testing software applications for assigned work items under guidance from senior developers.
• You will debug and fix software issues under supervision, and support troubleshooting of application or system issues during development and testing.
• You will analyze clearly defined business or system requirements and implement low-complexity technical solutions for assigned modules or tasks.
• You will support mainframe assembler development activities,
• You will participate in code reviews, design discussions, backlog or sprint activities, and learn development best practices and professional concepts from senior team members.
• You will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and team members to clarify requirements, communicate progress, and raise blockers early.
