Job summary

Amadeus in Bengaluru seeks a senior Software Development Engineer 4 to lead a Java/J2EE, microservices, Spring Boot and Quarkus team. You will design, build, and scale RESTful services and guide the development lifecycle from requirements to testing.

You will mentor engineers, enforce coding standards, and drive CI/CD adoption while collaborating with product managers to deliver high-quality software on ambitious timelines.

• 10+ years of Java development experience with 4+ years in a lead role.
• Experience designing microservices and RESTful services with Java/Spring Boot.
• Strong knowledge of Java 17, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and API design.

• Foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
• Conduct regular code reviews and provide constructive feedback.

• Technical Design and Development:
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable microservices-based architectures.
• Build and maintain RESTful web services using Java and Spring Boot.
• Oversee the development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, implementation, and testing.
• Implement best practices for performance optimization, security, and scalability.
• Project Management:
• Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to understand requirements and define project scope.
• Develop and manage project timelines, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality software.
• Identify and mitigate risks associated with project delivery.
• Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends.
• Drive innovation within the team and advocate for the adoption of new tools and methodologies.
• Promote and implement continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) practices.

Required Qualifications

• Experience:
• 10+ years of experience in Java development, with at least 4 years in a lead or senior role.Proven experience in designing and implementing microservices-based architectures.Expertise in developing RESTful web services using Java and Spring Boot.
• Technical Skills:
• Strong proficiency in Java and object-oriented programming principles.Technologies such as Java 17, Microservices architecture, Quarkus.In-depth knowledge of Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and other related technologies.Experience with API design and integration.Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Leadership Skills:
• Proven track record of successfully leading and managing development teams.Strong problem-solving abilities and excellent communication skills.Ability to mentor junior developers and foster a collaborative team environment.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Preferred Qualifications

• Tools and technologies such as Protobuf, Podman, Kubectl, SKUBE
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools (e.g., Jenkins, Git).
• Knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with agile methodologies and tools.
