EPAM Systems India Pvt Ltd in Pune seeks a Lead Software Engineer - Java with Spring Boot to own backend design of distributed services. Build Java 21/Quarkus microservices, craft RESTful APIs, and ensure secure Azure deployments with Kubernetes and CI/CD.

You will lead architecture, guide the engineering team, and ensure quality, security, and maintainability across the stack, while collaborating with frontend teams and applying DevOps practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in design and development using Java 21, Quarkus, and Java/JEE.
• Proficient with Spring Boot, Spring Security, and JUnit.
• Experience with relational databases including Oracle, Sybase, and PL/SQL.
• Microservices architecture on Azure Cloud with Kubernetes and serverless.
• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes (pods, containers, Istio) and Docker.
• RESTful APIs and connecting backend services with frontend applications.
• Experience with Git/GitLab CI/CD and working in Agile teams.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field.
• Nice to have knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and React (including Hooks).
• Familiarity with JavaScript and TypeScript; performance tuning and DevOps knowledge.

• Proven experience in microservices architecture, Azure Cloud, and Serverless solutions
• Good understanding of Kubernetes, including pods, containers, services, and Istio
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Redis
• Strong capability in RESTful APIs and connecting backend services with frontend applications
• Experience using Git/GitLab CI/CD pipelines and working in Agile teams
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field
