Glitterbug Technologies is seeking a backend engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable Python/Django systems in Bengaluru. You will collaborate with AI-assisted development, design robust APIs, and ensure reliability and performance from concept to production.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of experience building production-grade backend applications using Python and Django.
• Strong CS fundamentals, data structures, algorithms, object-oriented programming, and software design principles.
• Ability to independently design scalable systems, APIs, database schemas, and backend architectures with a focus on maintainability, performance, and reliability.
• Strong problem-solving skills with edge-case, trade-offs, and bottlenecks awareness.
• Experience with PostgreSQL/SQL, REST APIs, authentication, caching, asynchronous processing, and distributed systems concepts.
• Comfortable using AI-powered development tools to accelerate development while evaluating AI-generated code.
• Experience with AI-powered products, LLM integrations, or AI-assisted developer tooling is a plus.

What are we looking for?

• 2-5 years of experience building production-grade backend applications using Python and Django.
• Strong computer science fundamentals, data structures, algorithms, object-oriented programming, and software design principles.
• Ability to independently design scalable systems, APIs, database schemas, and backend architectures with a strong focus on maintainability, performance, and reliability.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify edge cases, trade-offs, failure scenarios, and production bottlenecks before implementation.
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL/SQL, REST APIs, authentication, caching, asynchronous processing, and distributed systems concepts.
• Comfortable using AI-powered development tools (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, etc.) to accelerate development while critically evaluating AI-generated code.
• Experience building AI-powered products, LLM integrations, agentic workflows, RAG pipelines, or AI-assisted developer tooling is a strong advantage.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (preferably AWS), Docker, Linux, CI/CD, Git, and basic DevOps practices.
• Experience with Redis, Celery, Kafka, Elasticsearch/OpenSearch, Nginx, or similar backend infrastructure is a plus.
• Strong debugging, communication, and collaboration skills, with a high sense of ownership and accountability.
