The ideal candidate should have over 3 years of experience with backend services, deep SQL database knowledge, and familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS or GCP. There are bonus points for experience in Java, Node.js, and the lending domain.

Your Role

We are looking for an SDE2 – Backend who will help streamline our lending backend services.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of scalable backend architectures.
• Write high‑quality, maintainable, and testable code.
• Inspire and mentor junior developers to produce excellent code and follow engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with product, frontend, and DevOps teams to build robust systems and seamless data flows.
• Take complete ownership of product features – from design to deployment.
• Ensure top‑notch performance and experience for both internal engineers and external users.
• Build and maintain high‑performance, reusable, and reliable client‑facing and internal APIs.
• Write unit‑test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability.
• Take ownership of product/features: end‑to‑end development with testing.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of intense experience writing production backend services at scale.
• Good understanding of algorithms, data structures, object‑oriented design and databases.
• Deep understanding of SQL database architecture – data modelling and scalable schema design.
• Working knowledge of message queues, NoSQL databases & caching systems.
• Good understanding of cloud platform (AWS or GCP) and building services for scale.
• Bonus points for experience with Java, Nodejs, Typescript, Lending or Payments domain.
