Bounteous, a leading digital experience agency, seeks an experienced Java Lead (10+ years) to design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade Java applications and microservices in an Agile environment. You will own backend solutions with Spring Boot, REST APIs, and secure data access layers across relational and NoSQL databases.

The role emphasizes cloud deployments on AWS/Azure, containerization with Docker and Kubernetes, and robust CI/CD pipelines.

Formación

• Requires 9+ years of hands-on Java development in enterprise microservices.
• Proficient in Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security, Spring Cloud, and Hibernate/Data JPA.
• Strong REST API design with API-first approach and OpenAPI/Swagger documentation.
• Database expertise across relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL/Oracle, MongoDB/Redis).
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes for cloud-native deployments.
• CI/CD experience with Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.

Responsabilidades

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java microservices using Spring Boot applying clean architecture, SOLID principles, and established design patterns.
• Build and expose secure RESTful APIs with API-first principles and versioning.
• Develop data access layers using Spring Data JPA / Hibernate and optimize queries across databases.
• Write unit and integration tests using JUnit and Mockito with high test coverage.
• Deploy cloud-native Java apps on AWS or Azure using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Build CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.
• Participate in code reviews to enforce standards, security, and architecture.
• Collaborate with architects, product owners, BAs, and QA in Agile sprint delivery.
• Produce API contracts and deployment runbooks.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Java Lead with 10+ years of experience to design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade Java applications and microservices. You will bring strong Spring Boot and microservices expertise delivering scalable, secure, and high-quality backend solutions in a collaborative Agile environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java microservices using Spring Boot applying clean architecture, SOLID principles, and well-established design patterns.
• Build and expose secure, well-documented RESTful APIs following API-first design principles and versioning best practices.
• Develop and optimise data access layers using Spring Data JPA / Hibernate managing entity relationships and query optimisation across relational and NoSQL databases.
• Write comprehensive unit and integration tests using JUnit and Mockito maintaining high code coverage through TDD practices.
• Deploy and manage cloud-native Java applications on AWS or Azure using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions automating build, test, and deployment workflows.
• Participate actively in code reviews enforcing coding standards, security practices, and architectural consistency.
• Collaborate with architects, product owners, BAs, and QA engineers in Agile sprint delivery.
• Produce clear technical documentation including API contracts and deployment runbooks.

What We're Looking For

1. 9+ years of hands-on Java development experience with a strong track record of enterprise microservices delivery in production.
2. Deep Spring Boot expertise including Spring MVC, Spring Security, Spring Cloud, and Spring Data JPA / Hibernate.
3. Strong REST API development skills following API-first design, OpenAPI / Swagger documentation, and versioning best practices.
4. Solid database skills across relational (PostgreSQL / MySQL / Oracle) and non-relational (MongoDB / Redis) databases.
5. Experience with Docker and Kubernetes for cloud-native Java microservices deployment.
6. Hands-on CI/CD experience using Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.
7. Good AWS or Azure cloud experience for deploying and managing Java applications.
8. Strong understanding of OOP, SOLID principles, and design patterns.
9. Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
