Job Title: Sr. Principal Software Engineer – Medical Devices
Role Overview
Looking for a highly experienced Sr. Principal Software Engineer with a strong background in Medical Device Software Development and Architecture. The ideal candidate should have 8–10 years of experience working as an Architect while continuing as a strong Individual Contributor.
The candidate will be responsible for designing, architecting, and developing large-scale software solutions for medical devices and regulated environments, with strong hands‑on expertise in C, C++, C#, software architecture, image processing, React, CUDA, and modern software engineering practices.
Mandatory Requirements
- 18–25 years of overall software industry experience.
- Mandatory: Experience specifically in the Medical Devices industry.
- Must have worked as an Architect for the last 8–10 years.
- Strong Individual Contributor experience with hands-on technical expertise.
- Experience designing, architecting, and developing software for:
- Medical Devices
- Patient Monitoring
- Medical Imaging
- Navigation
- Ultrasound
- Desktop Applications
Strong hands‑on expertise in C/C++/C#.
Strong knowledge of software/device architecture, design patterns, code refactoring, CI/CD, application security, and scalable software development practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, architect, develop, debug, and test modern software applications for medical devices.
- Lead software architecture and design for large-scale applications.
- Develop robust and scalable solutions using C, C++, and/or C#.
- Design and implement RESTful APIs and API-based solutions.
- Develop solutions using Service‑Oriented Architecture (SOA), Microservices, and Event‑Driven Architecture.
- Apply advanced image processing techniques and algorithms.
- Develop and work with React and React JS applications.
- Utilize CUDA libraries and GPU‑accelerated computing where required.
- Work with OpenGL and image-processing technologies.
- Work with communication protocols including CAN, RS232, TCP/IP, and USB.
- Drive software engineering practices including code refactoring, design patterns, design‑driven development, continuous integration, scalability, and application security.
- Lead software‑specific project planning and estimation activities.
- Collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders in an Agile development environment.
- Contribute to DevOps and CI/CD implementation using tools such as GitHub, GitLab, CodeDeploy, CircleCI, Jenkins, or Travis.
- Provide technical leadership while remaining hands‑on in software development and architecture.
Required Knowledge & Experience
- B.Tech in Computer Science / Electronics or equivalent with 17+ years of software industry experience, OR
- Master's in Computer Science / Electronics or equivalent with 15+ years of software industry experience.
- Strong programming skills in C, C++ and/or C#.
- Strong understanding of modern full-stack software design, development, debugging, and testing.
- Experience with large-scale software application design.
- Proven expertise in API design and RESTful APIs.
- Experience working as a Technical Team Leader or Solutions Architect.
- Expertise in image processing techniques and algorithms.
- Strong experience with React and React JS.
- Experience with SOA, Microservices, and Event-Driven Architecture.
- Proficiency with CUDA libraries and GPU‑accelerated computing.
- Experience with OpenGL.
- Knowledge of CAN, RS232, TCP/IP, and USB communication protocols.
- Experience in the medical industry or another regulated industry is desirable.
- Experience with software project planning and estimation.
