Job summary

Techdome is seeking an accomplished Software Architect to own end-to-end architecture for scalable, secure systems serving 100,000+ users. You will design APIs, data models, and security, while guiding decisions on microservices and cloud platforms.

You will remain hands-on with coding and reviews, mentor senior engineers, and shape engineering standards across an 80+ person team in healthcare, fintech, AI, and SaaS domains.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in software engineering with architecture ownership.
• Production experience with 100,000+ users (mandatory).
• Proven track record solving major production bottlenecks at scale.
• Strong hands-on Node.js and React; MERN preferred.
• Cloud architecture on AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Experience in healthcare, fintech, payments, insurance, or security-critical domains.
• Deep knowledge of distributed systems, APIs, databases, and reliability.
• Excellent communication and justification of technical decisions.

Responsibilities

• Architect MERN applications on cloud platforms using Kubernetes, CI/CD, IaC, and secrets management.

• Define engineering standards, reference architectures, and reusable patterns.

At Techdome, architects own their systems from design through production. You’ll design scalable, secure, and reliable systems, lead key technical decisions, and set engineering standards for an 80+ member team building products in healthcare, fintech, AI, and SaaS.

What You’ll Do

• Own end-to-end architecture: system design, APIs, data models, security, scalability, observability, and cost.
• Take responsibility for the performance and reliability of systems serving large user bases.
• Design secure solutions for healthcare data (PHI) and payment workflows.
• Architect MERN applications on AWS, GCP, or Azure, using Kubernetes, CI/CD, IaC, and secrets management.
• Drive decisions on microservices, event-driven systems, integrations, and build-versus-buy.
• Resolve production bottlenecks in performance, scalability, and availability.
• Define engineering standards, reference architectures, and reusable patterns.
• Stay hands-on through coding, design reviews, and code reviews.
• Mentor senior engineers and grow future technical leaders.

Must-haves

• 8+ years in software engineering with clear architecture ownership.
• Production experience running a system with 100,000+ users (mandatory).
• A track record of solving major production bottlenecks at scale.
• Strong hands-on Node.js and React skills; MERN preferred.
• Cloud architecture experience on AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Experience in healthcare, fintech, payments, insurance, or another security‑critical domain.
• Deep knowledge of distributed systems, APIs, databases, and reliability.
• Excellent communication and the ability to justify technical decisions.

Nice-to-haves

• HIPAA, PHI, or PCI-DSS compliance experience.
• Familiarity with Stripe, Braintree, or tokenization.
• Experience with high-availability, event-driven, or microservices systems.
• A SaaS, consulting, or venture‑studio background.
• Use of AI coding tools like Claude Code, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot.
