Job summary

Techdome is seeking an experienced Software Architect to own system design and production performance across healthcare, fintech, AI, and SaaS domains. You will lead architecture decisions from concept to production, set engineering standards, and guide an 80+ strong team while ensuring security and reliability.

The role requires hands-on expertise in Node.js and React, MERN stack familiarity, and proven experience handling systems with substantial user loads in cloud environments

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with architecture ownership.
• Proven production experience with a system handling 100,000+ users (mandatory).
• Strong hands-on experience with Node.js and React; MERN stack experience preferred.
• Experience in cloud architecture using AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems, APIs, databases, scalability, and reliability.

About The Role

At Techdome, software architecture goes beyond design. It involves ownership, technical leadership, and accountability for how systems perform in production.

As a Software Architect, you will design scalable, secure, and reliable systems, drive architectural decisions from concept to production, and set engineering standards for an 80+ member engineering team working across healthcare, fintech, AI, and SaaS.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end system architecture, including system design, APIs, data models, security, scalability, observability, and cost optimization.
• Own the production performance and reliability of systems serving large user bases.
• Design secure solutions involving healthcare data, Protected Health Information (PHI), and payment workflows.
• Architect applications using the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express.js, React, Node.js) and modern cloud infrastructure.
• Work with AWS, GCP, or Azure, along with Kubernetes, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), networking, and secrets management.
• Drive decisions on microservices, event-driven systems, integrations, and build-versus-buy strategies.
• Identify and resolve production bottlenecks across performance, scalability, and availability.
• Establish engineering standards, reference architectures, and reusable design patterns.
• Participate in coding, architecture discussions, design reviews, and code reviews.
• Mentor senior engineers and develop future technical leaders.

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with strong system design and architecture ownership.
• Proven production experience running a system with a minimum of 100,000 users (mandatory).
• A strong track record of identifying and solving major production bottlenecks at scale.
• Strong hands-on experience with Node.js and React; MERN stack experience preferred.
• Experience in cloud architecture using AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Experience in healthcare, payments, fintech, banking, insurance, or other security-critical domains.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems, APIs, databases, scalability, and reliability.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain and justify technical decisions.

Good to Have

• Experience with HIPAA, PHI, or PCI-DSS compliance.
• Familiarity with Stripe, Braintree, tokenization, or payment processing systems.
• Experience with microservices, event-driven architecture, and high-availability systems.
• Background in SaaS, consulting, or venture-studio environments.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, and GitHub Copilot.
