In this position, you will be architecting mixed-signal microcontroller systems featuring ARM Cortex-M0+/M33/RISC-V processors, and defining the system architecture for integrated platforms that combine high-performance analog peripherals with advanced digital communication interfaces as part of comprehensive SoC solutions.
Responsibilities
- System partitioning, architectural modeling, power domain optimization and interface specification development for microcontroller systems supporting multiple operating modes.
- Define architectural requirements and specifications for devices and IP.
- Develop innovative system-level solutions to complex integration challenges through evaluation of various processing approaches and power management techniques.
- Lead cross-functional architectural initiatives to ensure timely delivery of platform specifications with strategic oversight on routine architectural decisions and detailed technical guidance on next-generation embedded system innovations.
- Collaborate with analog designers, digital circuit engineers, embedded software architects, and applications engineers to solve complex system integration challenges and present architectural vision, including active leadership in technical working groups driving innovation in microcontroller platforms and industrial automation solutions.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- 10+ years of relevant experience in system architecture or digital design
- Deep understanding of ARM Cortex processor architectures and embedded system design
- Thorough knowledge of SoC architecture and subsystem integration methodologies
- Strong problem-solving skills with ability to analyze complex system-level challenges and develop innovative solutions
- Solid foundation in digital design principles and hardware/software interface design
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven track record of translating system requirements into implementable architectural specifications
- Demonstrated expertise in architecture trade-off analysis
- Experience with Cortex-M families and their ecosystem
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills for resolving multi-disciplinary technical challenges
- Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively with people in different functions
- Ability to adapt quickly to evolving requirements in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Additional Technical Competencies
- Ability to look at end-to-end solutions and derive system requirements
- Ability to evaluate and convert high level requirements into HW and/or SW features
- Assess high level market requirements for cost, power, security, safety implications
- Work with estimation tools (simulators, spreadsheets, Python tools, Matlab models, etc.) to model performance of design choices
- Work with design-oriented tools and outputs (XML, sims, waveforms, etc.)
- Ability to make good judgments based on early/partial data
- Ability to do "what if" thinking to ensure IP/SOC definitions are not missing opportunities or falling behind
