Job summary

Tenneco in Pune is seeking a senior operations leader to manage production for the Sealing & Gasket Plant. The role focuses on planning, execution, and continuous improvement to meet customer requirements and company goals.

Responsibilities include production planning, equipment maintenance, quality and safety compliance, and cross-functional team leadership to drive Kaizens and KPI achievement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Production Engineering or related field.
• 10–12 years of experience in manufacturing, preferably in sealing/gasket industry.

Responsibilities

• Production Planning & Execution: develop and execute daily production plans aligned with monthly targets.
• Oversee packaging and preservation of products during production; authorize stoppage for NCs.
• Maintenance & Equipment: ensure daily and preventive maintenance; monitor OEE.
• Quality, Safety & Compliance: follow EMS and OH&S standards; apply 5S and Poka-Yoke.
• Team Leadership: lead cross-functional teams; train and develop production staff.
• Performance Monitoring: track KPIs and ensure timely reporting of production metrics.

Dimension / Scope of The Job * :

To lead and manage the production operations of the Sealings & Gasket Plant, ensuring efficient planning, execution, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes while meeting customer requirements and organizational goals.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITY OF THE POSTION *

Key Responsibilities: Production Planning & Execution
Develop and execute daily production plans aligned with monthly targets. Ensure optimal work environment for efficient product manufacturing. Oversee proper handling, packaging, and preservation of products during production. Take corrective actions to prevent and eliminate non-conformities (NCs). Authorize stoppage of production in case of reported NCs.
Approve Returnable Gate Pass (RGP) for return material processing.
Process & Product Knowledge
Possess in-depth understanding of sealing and gasket manufacturing processes. Apply core tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA) effectively in production. Ensure fulfillment of customer-specific requirements (CSR). Recommend process concessions to the Director when necessary.
Maintenance & Equipment Management
Ensure implementation of daily and preventive maintenance (PM) of machines. Monitor and improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE). Identify and submit minimum 5 Problem Solving Improvement Forms (PSIF) annually.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
Adhere to Environmental Management System (EMS) and Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) standards. Maintain proper housekeeping through 5S practices. Implement Poka-Yoke (foolproofing) techniques to prevent errors.
Team Leadership & Development
Lead Cross-Functional Teams (CFT) for APQP activities. Train, motivate, and develop production team members. Foster a culture of continual improvement through Kaizens.
Performance Monitoring
Track and achieve P3 KPIs (Productivity, Performance, Profitability). Ensure timely reporting and documentation of production metrics.

Technical Skills * 1. Strong knowledge of core tools, CSR, and lean manufacturing principles.

2. Proficiency in OEE calculation and production benchmarking.

3. Familiarity with EMS, OH&S, and 5S methodologies.
