Job summary

Tenneco in India invites an Engineer to join the Applications & Product Engineering team focusing on hot gaskets, cold gaskets and heat shields. You will study environments, prepare part drawings, propose design solutions, and coordinate for manufacturing feasibility.

The role involves customer liaison, DVP finalization, participation in APQP/PPAP, team coordination, and supporting IATF documentation. Travel to customer sites for new business and quality issue resolution may be required.

Qualifications

• APQP/PPAP knowledge desirable
• IATF process documentation familiarity
• Team coordination and management capabilities

Responsibilities

• Study and understand application environment for HOT Gaskets, Cold Gaskets and Heat Shields
• Prepare part drawings considering engine boundary conditions
• Develop design proposals and review with global team; submit to customer
• Coordinate for manufacturing feasibility
• Finalize DVP with customers
• Coordinate with customers, sales, and internal departments
• Return part analysis and benchmarking of competitor parts
• Travel to customers to explore new business opportunities
• Attend functional quality issues with customers
• Participate in White Space analysis with the team
• Handle IATF systems/documentation for Engineering
• Work knowledge of APQP/PPAP processes
• Team coordination and management

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITY OF THE POSTION

• Study and understand application environment for all HOT gaskets, Cold Gaskets and Heat shields
• Study / prepare part drawings considering engine /package boundary conditions
• Work out design proposals, review with the global team and submit to customer
• Co-ordinate for manufacturing feasibility
• DVP finalization with customers
• Co-ordinate with the customers – sales team- internal departments like purchase, production, quality, maintenance
• Return Part analysis
• Visiting customers as per calendar to generate new business opportunities
• Visiting customers to attend functional quality issues
• Benchmarking of competitor parts
• Participate in White Space analysis with team
• Knowledge & capability to handle IATF systems/documentation responsibility for Engineering dept.
• Working knowledge of APQP/PPAP processes.
