Grey Matter Resources is seeking an experienced SMT Line Incharge to lead day-to-day SMT production activities at our Kochi facility. You will ensure targets are met, maintain quality, and supervise operators, with hands-on knowledge of SMT processes, line balancing, and production monitoring.

You will allocate manpower based on skills, track cycle times and machine utilization, coordinate with quality, maintenance and planning teams, and drive improvements through Kaizen and SOP compliance.

Formación

• 3–5 years of experience in SMT production or electronics manufacturing.
• Diploma or engineering qualification in Electronics or Electrical.
• Hands-on knowledge of SMT line operations and PCB assembly.
• Understanding of solder paste printers, Pick-and-Place, reflow, and inspection processes.
• Experience in manpower management, line balancing, and hourly production tracking.
• Knowledge of quality inspection, ESD, 5S, and safety procedures.

Responsabilidades

• Achieve hourly and shift targets while maintaining quality and productivity.
• Allocate manpower based on operator skills, workload, and production needs.
• Monitor line performance, cycle time, machine utilization, and output per station.
• Ensure proper line balancing and minimize bottlenecks.
• Oversee SMT processes: solder paste printing, Pick-and-Place, reflow, and inspection.
• Verify first-piece inspection results and adherence to work instructions.
• Coordinate with Stores and Planning on material availability.
• Track downtime and work with Maintenance and Engineering to resolve issues.
• Identify defects and escalate recurring quality issues.
• Facilitate model changeovers, line clearance, and material/machine program verification.
• Maintain hourly production reports, rejection logs, and shift handover records.
• Ensure barcode scanning, product identification, and material traceability.
• Train operators and support skill assessments and cross-training.
• Enforce SOPs, ESD precautions, PPE, 5S, and safety requirements.
• Collaborate with Quality, Maintenance, Engineering, and Stores to resolve production issues.
• Identify productivity losses and propose process improvements and Kaizen initiatives.

Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

• - Achieve hourly and shift-wise production targets while maintaining quality and productivity.
• - Allocate manpower based on operator skills, workload, and production requirements.
• - Monitor line performance, cycle time, machine utilization, and station-wise output.
• - Ensure proper line balancing and minimize production bottlenecks.
• - Monitor SMT processes, including solder paste printing, Pick-and-Place, reflow soldering, and inspection.
• - Verify first-piece inspection results and ensure compliance with work instructions.
• - Monitor material availability and coordinate with Stores and Planning teams.
• - Track machine downtime and coordinate with Maintenance and Engineering teams for resolution.
• - Identify, segregate, and elevate defective products and recurring quality issues.
• - Coordinate model changeovers, line clearance, and verification of materials and machine programs.
• - Maintain hourly production reports, rejection records, downtime logs, and shift handover reports.
• - Ensure barcode scanning, product identification, and material traceability.
• - Train operators and support skill assessments and cross-training.
