Job summary

Valenta is seeking a Senior Accountant to lead and control the financials across the business, including management reporting, cash flow forecasting and FX management. The role requires CA Intern/CMA with 5+ years in senior finance or accounting and experience with international supply chains.

You will oversee balance sheet integrity, risk management, audits and regulatory compliance while mentoring the finance team and coordinating with banks, auditors and external advisors.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in a senior finance or accounting role.
• Strong management reporting, forecasting and financial analysis skills.
• Experience with international supply chains and foreign currency transactions preferred.
• Mandarin speakers will be highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all financial aspects of the business.
• Provide commercial and financial advice to the Executive Management team.
• Develop and maintain financial controls, policies and procedures.
• Drive continuous improvement in financial processes and reporting.
• Prepare monthly management accounts with P&L, balance sheet and cash flow reports.
• Analyse performance against budget and forecast; present insights to management.
• Monitor gross margins, project profitability, and performance by client/region.
• Maintain rolling cash flow forecasts and manage working capital.
• Coordinate audits, tax compliance and regulatory requirements.

Position Purpose

The Senior Accountant is responsible for the financialleadership, control and performance management of the business. This roleprovides oversight of all financial activities including management reporting,cash flow forecasting, foreign exchange management, profitability analysis,balance sheet integrity, risk management and compliance.

Financial Leadership

• Leadand manage all financial aspects of the business.
• Providecommercial and financial advice to the Executive Management team (GM andFounder / CEO).
• Developand maintain financial controls, policies and procedures within a single sourceof truth.
• Drivecontinuous improvement in financial processes and reporting.

Management Reporting

• Preparemonthly management accounts.
• Producemonthly Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow reports.
• Analyseperformance against budget and forecast.
• Presentkey financial insights, risks and opportunities to management.

Profitability & Commercial Analysis

• Monitorgross margins, project profitability and business performance.
• Analyseprofitability by client, project, region and product category.
• Identify opportunities formargin improvement and cost control.

Cash Flow & FX Management

• Maintainrolling cash flow forecasts.
• Manageworking capital, creditor and debtor performance.
• Manageforeign exchange exposure across USD, GBP, EUR, AUD and RMB transactions.
• MonitorFX movements and report gains, losses and exposures.

Balance Sheet & Risk Management

• Maintainbalance sheet integrity and monthly reconciliations.
• Overseeaccruals, prepayments, fixed assets and project liabilities.
• Identifyfinancial, operational and commercial risks.
• Coordinateaudits, tax compliance and regulatory requirements.

Team Leadership

• SuperviseAccounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.
• Reviewpayment runs and financial controls.
• Managerelationships with banks, auditors and external advisors.

Skills & Experience

• CA Intern/CMA
• 5+years experience in a senior finance or accounting role.
• Strongmanagement reporting, forecasting and financial analysis skills.
• Experiencewith international supply chains and foreign currency transactions preferred.
• Mandarinspeakers will be highly regarded.

Key Performance Indicators

• Monthlyreports delivered accurately and on time.
• Forecastcash flow maintained within agreed variance levels.
• Balancesheet reconciliations completed monthly.
• FXexposure actively managed and reported.
• Complianceobligations met without issue.
