Job summary

Indriya Realtors in Tamil Nadu seeks a Site Supervisor to oversee day-to-day construction activities at the project site. You will ensure work aligns with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards and safety rules while maintaining project timelines.

Responsibilities include supervising labour and subcontractors, managing materials, monitoring quality, coordinating with the project team, and generating daily/site progress reports to support timely delivery and cost control.

Qualifications

• Diploma/ITI/B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering is required.
• Ability to read and understand basic construction drawings is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of construction methods, materials and site practices.
• Candidates with site supervision experience may also be considered.

Job Purpose

The Site Supervisor will be responsible for supervising and coordinating day-to-day activities at the project site, ensuring that construction and development works are executed as per approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and project timelines.

Key Responsibilities

1. Site Supervision & Execution

• Supervise daily construction and site development activities.
• Ensure work is carried out as per approved drawings, specifications, and instructions from the Project Manager / Site Engineer.
• Monitor ongoing civil, masonry, plastering, flooring, painting, electrical, plumbing, landscaping and other site activities as applicable.
• Ensure proper sequencing and coordination of different activities at the site.
• Monitor progress against the planned project schedule.

2. Labour & Contractor Management

• Coordinate and supervise daily labour, subcontractors, vendors and workmen at the site.
• Allocate work to labour teams based on daily requirements.
• Monitor labour attendance, productivity and work quality.
• Ensure contractors complete assigned activities within the required timelines.
• Resolve routine site-level issues and elevate major concerns to the reporting manager.

3. Material Management

• Monitor receipt, unloading, storage and utilisation of construction materials.
• Verify materials received at site against delivery documents / requirements.
• Ensure materials are stored properly to prevent damage, wastage or theft.
• Monitor daily material consumption and report shortages or excessive wastage.
• Coordinate with the concerned team for timely material requirements.

4. Quality Control

• Ensure construction work is executed according to approved quality standards.
• Inspect workmanship and identify defects or deviations.
• Ensure corrective actions are taken for poor-quality or defective work.
• Coordinate with Site Engineer / Project Manager for technical clarifications.
• Ensure rework is minimised through proper supervision.

5. Safety & Housekeeping

• Ensure workers follow site safety instructions and required PPE.
• Monitor safe working practices at the project site.
• Report unsafe conditions, accidents, incidents or near‑miss situations immediately.
• Ensure proper housekeeping and cleanliness at the site.
• Ensure tools, equipment and construction materials are handled safely.

6. Site Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain daily site activity reports.
• Record labour attendance and manpower deployment.
• Maintain records of material receipts and consumption as required.
• Report daily progress, delays, manpower requirements and site issues to the reporting manager.
• Maintain photographs and other supporting records of site progress whenever required.
• Assist in preparing weekly and monthly project progress reports.

7. Coordination

• Coordinate with Project Managers, Site Engineers, Architects, Contractors, Vendors and other stakeholders.
• Coordinate with internal departments such as Procurement, Accounts, Sales and Administration wherever required.
• Support site inspections and client / management visits.
• Communicate project requirements clearly to workers and contractors.

8. Project Timeline & Cost Control

• Monitor work progress and identify potential delays.
• Take timely action to avoid unnecessary project delays.
• Minimise material wastage and unnecessary labour utilisation.
• Ensure site activities are completed within the approved schedule and resources.

Required Qualifications

• Diploma / ITI / B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related field.
• Candidates with relevant site supervision experience may also be considered.
• Basic knowledge of construction methods, materials and site practices.
• Ability to read and understand basic construction drawings is preferred.

Experience

• 25 years of experience in construction, real estate development or civil site supervision preferred.
• Experience in residential / commercial / villa / layout development projects will be an added advantage.
