Job summary

UBS is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer in Pune to engineer, test and deploy IBM MQ features, and drive cloud-based ecosystem enhancements. You will ensure platform stability, security and UBS policy compliance across on-prem and Azure environments.

You should bring 5+ years in finance infra, strong communication, Kubernetes, GitLab CI/CD, and a curiosity for AI-driven workflow improvements. This is a full-time, on-site role at UBS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT or equivalent.
• 5+ years as an infrastructure engineer in finance.
• Strong communication and technical writing skills.
• Understanding of IBM MQ and GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
• Know-how of Azure and containerized solutions (Kubernetes).
• Interest in applying AI to optimize workflows.

Key Responsibilities

We are looking for candidates to take the role of Infrastructure Engineer and help us to:

• Engineer, test and deploy features and releases for the IBM (International Business Machines) MQ (Message Queue) product.
• Assist in keeping the IBM MQ Messaging platform stable, performant, secure and compliant with UBS policies.
• Design, develop and deploy the next generation cloud-based ecosystem for the IBM MQ product.

The key responsibilities are:

• Develop and improve application hosting infrastructure services, with a focus on the IBM MQ product and its associated supporting infrastructure.
• Provide hosting and deployment services that are easy to consume and efficient to operate, both on-prem and in the cloud – making effective use of cloud capabilities on the Azure platform.
• Apply a broad range of engineering practices, in an agile context based on Scrum. From analyzing requirements and developing new features to automated testing, deployment, and operations. With emphasis on Gitlab, the key tooling.
• Ensure the quality, security, reliability, and compliance of solutions by applying our digital principles and implementing both functional and non-functional requirements.
• Build observability into our solutions to monitor production health, help to resolve incidents, and remediate the root cause of risks and issues.
• Learn new technologies and practices, reuse strategic platforms and standards, evaluate options, and make decisions with long-term sustainability in mind.

The team

In our agile operating model, crews are aligned to larger products and services fulfilling client needs and encompass multiple autonomous pods. You will be working in the Hosting stream in the India (Pune) campus within the Middleware crew which covers products in the areas of application hosting, enterprise messaging, file transfer and job scheduling.

The Integration crew supports our POD members with a hybrid and flexible working model. There is a well-organized onboarding process that helps to ensure you have a good start and settle into the new role smoothly. Your Skills And Experience

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent focusing on Information Technology.
• Ideally 5 years of experience as an infrastructure engineer focused on infrastructure employed within the finance sector.
• Strong communicator, with skills in the creation of presentations and technical writing.
• In-depth understanding of the IBM MQ product and Gitlab-based CICD pipelines for the creation of product-related packages.
• Good understanding of Azure concepts and available services.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and an understanding of containerized solutions.
• You’re curious to explore how AI can improve how we build, deliver, and optimize workflows. You do this with sound judgment – validating outputs and aligning with policies, risk standards, and ethical use.
