Job summary

Sandvik Mining is seeking a Site Manager - Zawar to lead maintenance and operation activities for underground and surface mining equipment. You will drive reliability-centered maintenance, promote genuine Sandvik spare parts, and manage a multidisciplinary team on site.

The role emphasizes safety, planning, and effective stakeholder communication to achieve high availability and productivity in a challenging mining environment.

Qualifications

• BE/BTech in Electrical, Mechanical or Automobile Engineering
• 12–15 years of hands-on experience in service/maintenance operations
• Experience in underground or surface metal mining environments

Responsibilities

• Lead maintenance for underground and surface mining equipment.
• Plan and schedule operation and maintenance tasks.
• Drive performance tests on UG equipment and lead the maintenance team.
• Ensure safe and healthy working conditions per safety programs.
• Coordinate with order desk/parts department and promote genuine spare parts.

Your Role:

SITE MANAGER - ZAWAR

Support Metal Mining customers by actively supporting Sandvik Equipment’s working with the team to improve availability of machines and performance with a focus on Reliability centered maintenance practice. Active promotion of Sandvik service, original spare parts, maintenance contracts, etc.

Job responsibilities:

• Experience in working with operation and maintenance team for underground or surface metal mining project.
• Experience in working in Load & Haul machines, UG Production & Development drill, LPDT, LHD etc.
• Hand on experience in UG Equipment maintenance.
• Servicing and overhauling of Underground and surface metal mining machines.
• Proficient in effective maintenance practice of the machine to demonstrate machine performance with desired availability.
• Ability to drive and conduct performance test UG Equipment’s. Leading the team for maintenance of equipment.
• Actively participate in achieving high level of productivity.
• Planning and scheduling of operation and Maintenance task.
• Site Management skills include - Accounting, Reporting, Monitoring, Administration, Strategic decision, customer communication, conflict resolution, and people management.
• Experience in working in Underground mining (Coal or Metal) for minimum 12 years is mandatory for selection for interviews.

• Ensuring that all reasonable steps are taken to ensure all employees are provided with a safe and healthy working environment. This includes compliance with the SMC safety management program.
• Should have good knowledge on Mining procedure of UG Coal and/ or Metal Mines. Practical knowledge of Load & Haul machines working under various Mining operations.
• Ability to challenge difficult mining conditions and plan to achieve operational performance in adverse working conditions.
• Continuously improve and update personal knowledge with respect to product development and technical innovation.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.

• Effective implementation of preventive maintenance with the help of customer maintenance staff. Help customers to record the same.
• Analysis report in case of warranty failure, repeated failure, peculiar failure, etc.
• Feedback on product performance, availability, parts consumption, etc.
• Carry out health Audit checkup of the equipment’s.
• Actively promote genuine SANDVIK spare parts.
• Spare parts estimation for customer stock considering machine condition, working environment, customer stock level, etc.
• Liaison with order desk / parts department. and help customers in getting the spare parts.
• Basic knowledge of finance and accounting.
• Experience in CMMS/ SAP/ MAXIMO.

• BE/B Tech in Electrical, Mechanical, Automobile Engineering, result oriented & experienced professional with 12-15 years of hands on experience.
