Job summary

Solidus Techno Power in Noida, UP is seeking a Site Engineer - Rooftop Solar to manage on-site execution, installation, and commissioning of rooftop solar projects across residential, commercial and industrial setups.

You will supervise mounting, wiring, and inverter installation, ensure safety and quality, coordinate with clients and vendors, and drive projects to meet schedules according to MNRE guidelines and DISCOM regulations.

Qualifications

• Diploma / B.Tech / B.E. in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Solar certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Execute rooftop solar projects per drawings and BOQ.
• Supervise mounting, panel, inverter, wiring, earthing and safety.
• Ensure tilt, alignment and structural safety.
• Monitor site progress and meet timelines.
• Coordinate with clients, vendors and internal teams.
• Conduct site surveys and feasibility analysis.

Position: Site Engineer - Rooftop Solar

Department: Projects / Operations

Reporting To: Project Manager / Project Head

Location: Noida, UP/Patiala, Punjab

1. Role Purpose

The Site Engineer Rooftop Solar will be responsible for on-site execution, supervision, installation, and commissioning of rooftop solar projects (Residential, Commercial & Industrial). The role ensures quality installation, safety compliance, adherence to project timelines, and coordination with clients, vendors, and internal teams.

2. Key Responsibilities

• Execute rooftop solar projects as per approved drawings and BOQ.
• Supervise installation of mounting structures, solar panels, inverters, AC/DC wiring, earthing, and lightning arrestor systems.
• Ensure proper alignment, tilt angle, and structural safety of solar modules.
• Monitor daily site activities and ensure completion within scheduled timelines.
• Maintain site progress reports and share daily updates with Project Manager.
• Conduct site survey and feasibility analysis before project execution.
• Validate shadow analysis, rooftop strength, and load-bearing capacity.
• Ensure correct DC cable routing, inverter installation, and AC connectivity.
• Coordinate with DISCOM for net metering and grid synchronization.
• Support testing & commissioning of solar systems.
• Troubleshoot technical issues during installation and post-installation stage.
• Ensure work is executed as per MNRE guidelines and local DISCOM regulations.
• Follow electrical safety standards and company SOPs.
• Conduct quality checks before handover.
• Ensure proper documentation including:
• Installation checklist
• Testing reports
• Handover documents
• Ensure strict compliance with site safety norms.
• Enforce use of PPE at site.
• Prevent unsafe practices during height work and electrical work.
• Coordinate with:
• Procurement team for material dispatch.
• Civil & electrical vendors.
• Clients for site access and approvals.
• Address client queries at site level.
• Support final project handover and client training on system operation.

3. Educational Qualification

• Diploma / B.Tech / B.E. in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Solar certification (preferred).

4. Experience Required

• 2–5 years experience in rooftop solar project execution.
• Experience in residential and commercial rooftop installations preferred.
• Knowledge of net metering process.

5. Technical Skills

• Understanding of:
• Solar PV system design
• Single-line diagrams (SLD)
• Inverter configuration
• AC/DC wiring standards
• Basic knowledge of AutoCAD (preferred).
• Ability to read electrical drawings.
