Job summary

Shankar Group in Bengaluru and Udupi seeks a responsible Site Engineer (Civil) to oversee day-to-day site operations, plan and schedule activities, and coordinate with employees, vendors and contractors. Travel to project sites is expected.

The ideal candidate will have 2–5 years in civil construction, strong coordination and planning skills, and the ability to manage labour, materials and safety compliance on busy sites.

Qualifications

• Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Civil or related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in civil construction/site execution and project coordination.
• Ability to manage labour, contractors, vendors, and site teams effectively.
• Strong planning, scheduling and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and take responsibility for site operations.
• Willingness to travel regularly to project sites.
• Basic knowledge of MS Office/Excel and daily progress reporting is an advantage.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced site environment and manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assign and coordinate manpower based on project requirements and work schedules.
• Manage material requirements, including planning, ordering, receiving, storage, and utilization.
• Conduct regular site inspections and ensure proper utilization of manpower, materials, and equipment.
• Travel to different project/site locations as required for supervision and coordination.
• Prepare and submit daily progress reports and provide regular updates to management.

About the Role

We are looking for a responsible and proactive Site Engineer (Civil) to manage and supervise day-to-day site operations. The candidate will be responsible for planning and scheduling site activities, coordinating with employees, vendors, contractors, engineers, and other stakeholders, and ensuring that the project progresses smoothly and on schedule.

The ideal candidate should have good site management skills, strong coordination abilities, and the ability to handle labour, materials, vendors, and day-to-day site challenges effectively.

Location: Bangalore & Udupi, with regular travel to project sites

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise the entire site operations and ensure smooth execution of work.
• Plan, schedule, and monitor daily and weekly site activities.
• Coordinate with site employees, contractors, vendors, engineers, and other project stakeholders.
• Identify site-related and labour related issues and take appropriate corrective actions to avoid delays and monitor site safety practices to ensure workers follow required safety procedures.
• Assign and coordinate manpower based on project requirements and work schedules
• Manage material requirements, including planning, ordering, receiving, storage, and utilization.
• Conduct regular site inspections and ensure proper utilization of manpower, materials, and equipment.
• Travel to different project/site locations as required for supervision and coordination.

Candidate Requirements

• Diploma/B.E./B.Tech/ in Mechanical, Production, Industrial Engineering, Civil or any related field
• At least 2 to 5 years of experience and good knowledge of civil construction/site execution and project coordination.
• Ability to manage labour, contractors, vendors, and site teams effectively.
• Good planning, scheduling, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and take responsibility for site operations.
• Willingness to travel regularly to project sites.
• Basic knowledge of MS Office/Excel and preparation of daily progress reports will be an advantage.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced site environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
