Job summary

Thermax Limited TBWES OEM is seeking a Site E&I Engineer with 8–12 years of experience for construction sites across industries such as power, cement, textiles, and oil & gas. The role covers field instrument calibration, installation, testing, and pre-commissioning, with emphasis on safety and quality checks.

You will coordinate with customers, consultants and internal teams, supervise erection activities, and ensure timely delivery as per project schedule.

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech or Diploma in Instrumentation with 8–12 years construction site experience.
• Experience in field instrument calibration, installation, testing and pre-commissioning.
• Knowledge of P&ID, cable tray routing, JB/panel layouts and related drawings.
• Willingness to travel for site deputation.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety precautions, norms and compliances on site.
• Inspect cable tray activity, field instrument installation and calibration.
• Coordinate with customer/consultant and HO & contractor.
• Ensure site establishment requirements and vendor resource management.
• Supervise calibration, testing, installation and pre-commissioning of E&I work.
• Expedite progress to meet project schedules.
• Prepare QAP/ITP/Erection Work Procedures/Calibration Procedures/Testing Protocols for E&I jobs.
• Prepare Job Safety Analysis for critical jobs and ensure safe lifting processes.
• Maintain safety compliances at the site.
• Understand P&ID, cable routing, and equipment drawings.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Ensure all safety precautions, norms and compliances are followed during the entire duration of construction.
• Material checking, preparation of IMIR documents, highlights the deviation with respect to drawings through SAR, inspection, execution of cable tray activity, field instrument installation, air / impulse pipe / tube work, earthing work, local JB / Panels etc.
• Attend meeting with customer, consultant, co-ordination with HO & contractor.
• Ensure site establishment requirements, check & verify skill labour’s engagement by construction vendor, resources, projects material availability for site execution, maintain planned schedule.
• Supervision, Execution of Field Instrument Calibration, testing, Installation, pre-commissioning, quality checks of E&I work at sites.
• Expediate work progress, ensure timely delivery as per Projects schedule.
• Preparation of QAP / ITP / Erection Work Procedures / Calibration Procedures / Electrical Equipment testing procedure / Activity schedule / Protocols etc. for E&I jobs.
• Preparation of Job Safety Analysis for critical Jobs., Safe lifting process etc. co-ordination with team members.
• Ensure all Safety procedures, compliances followed strictly at site.
• Experience in construction sites, Understanding of P&ID, Cable tray routing, Cable schedule/JB/ Panel location drawings, Hook-up drawing etc.
• Knowledge of Instrumentation & Electrical items and work activity.
• Erection experience with consultants / customer in steel / cement / power and PSU industries. Knowledge of Safe working practices in construction sites.
• Contractor handling capabilities.
• Candidate should be ready to travel for site deputation .
