Job summary

Tata Consulting Engineers Limited (TCE) invites a Working Engineer-E2 in Instrumentation and Control-Design Engineering to join our design team. You will develop instrumentation systems for industrial projects, prepare concepts, tender specs, and BOMs, and coordinate with clients and site teams.

We expect 4–6 years of hands-on experience, knowledge of Indian and international codes, P&ID reviews, IO summaries for mechanical and electrical systems, and proficiency with AutoCAD.

Qualifications

• 4–6 years of experience in instrumentation and control design.
• Experience with P&ID, IO summaries, and BOMs.
• Knowledge of Indian/International codes and standards.
• Familiar with AutoCAD and field instrumentation.
• Ability to coordinate with client, site team, and contractors.

Responsibilities

• Prepare/review P&ID and IO summaries for systems.
• Create detailed instrument specifications and BOMs.
• Coordinate with other discipline leads and clients.
• Support commissioning and resolve site issues.
• Prepare documentation including reports and drawings.
• Familiarity with instrumentation cables and communication protocols.

Purpose & Scope of Position

Experience in Instrumentation system design, Concept note, Tender Specifications, BOQ, Bid analysis, Review of Good for construction drawings, co-ordination with client and site team,
Experience of candidate shall be from Site Contractor, Consultant or EPC firm background.

Experience

• 4-6 years of experience in relevant design discipline
• Experience in engineering packages

Key Responsibilities

1. 1. Minimum 4-5 Years of experience of working on Industrial kind of projects
2. 2. Shall have knowledge of Indian / International codes and standards, local statutory / CEIG / NCB / NEC norms.
3. 3. Shall be proficient for preparation/review of P&ID, Preparation of detailed IO summary for mechanical and electrical system.
4. 4. Preparation of Field Instruments specification, bill of material, cable schedule.
5. 5. Actively coordinates with other discipline leads, project management team and client for various design points
6. 6. Evaluation and recommendation require for new technologies to enhance system performance
7. 7. Collaboration with contractors and other stakeholders to resolve commissioning and site related issues and ensure proper operation
8. 8. Documentation - Preparation of detail project report, tender specification, BOQ, schematic and drawing.
9. 9. Familiar with AutoCad
10. 10. Good knowledge and experinace in PLC controller, DDC controller, industrial convertors, Communication protocols, instrumentation cables etc
