Execute Heat Treatment Cycles: Oversee the specific heating and cooling processes for various materials, including quenching, tempering, annealing, and normalizing.
Monitor Furnace Parameters: Continuously check furnace temperatures, cooling rates, and cycle times to ensure parts achieve the desired physical, chemical, and mechanical properties.
Workflow Coordination: Liaise with the forging and machining departments to prioritize jobs and manage throughput efficiently.
Defect Troubleshooting: Investigate irregularities and non-conformities, using root cause analysis to reduce scrap rates and rework.
Calibration & Standards: Ensure all pyrometry, equipment, and instrumentation comply with industry and customer specifications.
Manpower Deployment: Delegate tasks to furnace operators and technicians and conduct hands-on training where necessary.
Safety & Environment: Enforce shop floor safety regulations, promote good housekeeping, and ensure a risk-free working environment.
