Job summary

Ferrero is seeking a Shift Production Supervisor in Pune to coordinate the line team and oversee all production activities on the shift. You will ensure safety, maintain quality, and drive output while coordinating with maintenance and other departments.

The role requires 4–8 years of relevant experience in the food industry, BE Mechanical or BE Electrical, and solid knowledge of ISO 22000 and TPM. On-site role with strong focus on training and process improvements.

Qualifications

  • BE Mechanical or BE Electrical required with strong exposure to manufacturing environments.
  • Food industry experience is mandatory for this role.
  • Knowledge of ISO 22000 and TPM concepts is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee production on the assigned shift and ensure safety and quality of output.
  • Monitor progress against KPIs (SQCDME) and optimize resource utilization.
  • Lead and mentor line team; manage absences, conflicts, and performance.
  • Coordinate with maintenance and other departments to ensure smooth operations.
  • Maintain shift records and participate in handover and shift planning.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Production Oversight:
  • Liable for all production phases within assigned shift.
  • Monitors production progress against KPIs (SQCDME).
  • Ensures optimal utilization of resources (materials, labor, machinery).
  • Manages line interruptions and slowdowns.
  • Conducts shift start-up and line preparation.
  • Carries out production statement at shift end.
  • Team Leadership:
  • Leads and motivates shift team.
  • Resolves team conflicts.
  • Reinforce employee development and skills training.
  • Conducts performance evaluations.
  • Manages employee absences and vacation requests.
  • Participates in disciplinary actions.
  • Safety & Quality:
  • Ensures adherence to all safety and hygiene standards.
  • Conducts safety training and inspections.
  • Monitors product quality through operator self-checks and sampling.
  • Implements corrective actions for quality issues.
  • Resource Management:
  • Manages inventory and material flow.
  • Coordinates resource allocation and scheduling.
  • Reinforce production planning activities.
  • Maintenance & Improvement:
  • Coordinates maintenance requests and interventions.
  • Identifies and proposes areas for production improvement.
  • Reinforce implementation of improvement initiatives.
  • Communication & Collaboration:
  • Collaborates with UGP Manager, RdL, and other departments.
  • Provides regular performance updates and feedback.
  • Reinforce shift handover and knowledge sharing.
  • Administrative Duties:
  • Maintains accurate production records and shift logs.
  • Reinforce the development of the "merit plan" for workers.
  • Complies with all company policies and procedures.
Required Skills:
  • Good knowhow of food process industries
  • Manpower handling skill on the shopfloor

Educational Background that we're looking for:
  • BE Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
  • Food Industry experience is a must.
  • Atleast 4 to 8 years of experience is required.
