Job summary

Genxhire Services is seeking a Shift Engineer/Shift In-Charge to lead a chemical plant shift, ensuring safety, quality and production targets are met. The role requires hands-on leadership on the shop floor and close coordination with cross-functional teams.

The candidate should have 2–4 years of relevant experience, a mechanical or electrical engineering degree (WINS) or chemical engineering (WET), and proficiency in MS Office. A strong ownership mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (WINS) or Chemical Engineering (WET)
• 2–4 years of hands-on shop floor management experience
• MS Office (Excel, Word, PPT, Teams, Outlook); Develop SOPs, Work Instructions, CTQ; Six Sigma/QC tools advantageous

Wet and WINS: - Shift Engineer/Shift In-Charge

Shift Engineer to have strong leadership skills (particularly ownership mindset), a Team Player, demonstrate Value & Behavior, thereby maintaining cordial relations with shop floor team, cross functional team, & all internal stake holders, in a high workload type typical chemical plant start up environment.

Demonstrate passion in Leading the Process Team with a focus on Zero Safety Incidents.

Lead from front (Hands on Knowledge) by working directly with team members on shop floor thereby demonstrating to them by operating the equipment himself (As and when situation demands)

Key Responsibilities

• Safety: Zero tolerance for unsafe behaviour, demonstrate & lead strict adherence of safety standards and safety compliance on shop floor. Take periodic Gemba rounds and control unsafe acts and unsafe conditions on shop floor
• Production: Lead the shift with a focus on - Zero safety incidents, zero quality issues and zero process/equipment unscheduled downtime, develop a process/system based culture in managing operations, ensure output as per production plan, ensure 5s on shop floor, handover of shift change
• Quality Control: All tasks and activities as per documented & approved procedures, ensure input and output is as per approved quality specifications, provide engineering solution through data analysis to support quality assurance, customer complaint evaluations, process management and problem troubleshooting
• Cost: Eliminate losses and improve yield

Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (for WINS), Chemical Engineering (for WET)
• Experience: Minimum 2-4 years of hands-on experience in shop floor management.
• Knowledge and Skills: MS Office (Excel, Word, PPT, Teams, Outlook), Develop SOP's, Work Instruction, CTQ. Added advantage - Six Sigma, QC tools, Statistical Process Control, Kaizen, TQM
