Upstox is seeking a Settlement Operations Associate in Mumbai to manage retail trade settlements and corporate actions, ensuring accurate and timely processing. The role requires a finance/commerce background and familiarity with settlement cycles.

You will handle pay‑in/pay‑out of shares, oversee auctions, and support back‑office changes while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues and drive efficiency.

Qualifications

• Graduate/Postgraduate in Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
• Strong working knowledge of retail trade settlements across capital market products.
• Familiarity with depositories, clearing corporations, and settlement cycles.
• Excellent problem solving, communication and coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage Retail Trade Settlements, including equity pay‑in/pay‑out of shares.
• Oversee auction settlements and closeout processes.
• Handle corporate actions by identifying eligible clients and ensuring timely distribution of entitlements.
• Process pledge/unpledge requests of shares from clients.
• Support system enhancements through testing and implementation of back‑office process changes.
• Ensure timely and accurate regulatory reporting and compliance with applicable norms.
• Perform reconciliations of Demat holdings across Pool, CUSA, and other Demat accounts.
• Respond to client queries, audit queries, and inspection requirements.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to resolve operational issues and drive continuous improvement.

We are seeking a detail‑oriented and proactive professional to join our Settlement Operations team. This role is central to ensuring the smooth and timely settlement of trades, handling corporate actions, regulatory reporting, reconciliations, and client servicing. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of capital market settlement processes and a commitment to operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage Retail Trade Settlements, including equity pay‑in/pay‑out of shares.
• Oversee auction settlements and closeout processes.
• Handle corporate actions by identifying eligible clients and ensuring timely distribution of entitlements (Dividends, Bonus, Split, Sub‑Division, Merger, Demerger, etc.).
• Process pledge/unpledge requests of shares from clients.
• Support system enhancements through testing and implementation of back‑office process changes.
• Ensure timely and accurate regulatory reporting and compliance with applicable norms.
• Perform reconciliations of Demat holdings across Pool, CUSA, and other Demat accounts.
• Respond to client queries, audit queries, and inspection requirements.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to resolve operational issues and drive continuous improvement.

Who You Are

• Graduate/Postgraduate in Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
• Strong working knowledge of retail trade settlements across capital market products.
• Proficient in MS Excel (advanced functions preferred).
• Familiarity with depositories, clearing corporations, and settlement cycles.
