Job summary

Allegis Group in Hyderabad is seeking a ServiceNow ITOM Platform Engineer with hands-on cloud experience to build, operate, and improve ITOM capabilities across hybrid on-prem and cloud environments.

You will own Discovery, CMDB data quality, Event Management, and Service Mapping, applying IRE and CI/CD practices while collaborating with cloud and infrastructure teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of hands-on ServiceNow engineering with ITOM focus.
• Proven Discovery, CMDB data quality, and MID Server deployment experience.

About the role:

We are seeking a ServiceNow ITOM Platform Engineer with hands-on cloud experience to build, operate, and continuously improve our ITOM capabilities in ServiceNow. This role is responsible for Discovery, CMDB data quality, Event Management, and Service Mapping across hybrid on-prem and cloud environments (AWS/Azure/GCP). The role is intentionally hybrid in nature, combining ServiceNow platform engineering with cloud engineering expertise and strong development skills, including scripting, integration, and automation, to ensure accurate modeling, reliable discovery, and operational visibility of modern cloud-based services. The engineer will apply DevOps/CICD practices where appropriate with an opportunity to expand into broader ServiceNow platform capabilities over time.

What youll be doing:

• Design, implement, and operate ServiceNow ITOM capabilities, with a primary focus on Discovery, CMDB data quality, Service Mapping, and Event Management across hybrid onprem and cloud environments.


• Engineer and maintain reliable Discovery and MID Server architectures, including scoping, credential management, network zoning, performance tuning, and operational monitoring.


• Improve CMDB accuracy and trust by applying identification and reconciliation best practices (IRE), enforcing data quality standards, and aligning CI and service models to CSDM.


• Build, validate, and optimize service maps using patternbased and discoverydriven methodologies to accurately represent application and infrastructure dependencies.


• Integrate cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, and/or GCP) into ServiceNow using Cloud Discovery and Cloud Service Graph Connectors, ensuring cloud resources are modeled, normalized, and governed correctly.


• Define and support cloud tagging governance, including ownership, environment, application, and cost attribution standards, and partner with cloud teams to enforce consistent tag adoption.


• Perform gap analysis and develop insights between cloud platforms and the CMDB, identifying coverage gaps; missing, mismatched, or misaligned cloud resources, attributes, and relationships, and driving remediation to improve data fidelity.

Partner with cloud, infrastructure, and application teams to translate realworld architectures into accurate ServiceNow data and service models.

• Develop automation and integrations using Flow Designer, Integration Hub, and scripted logic, with attention to resiliency, security, and maintainability.


• Contribute to platform engineering best practices, including upgradesafe development, automated testing (ATF), CI/CD alignment, and clear solution documentation.


• Monitor and improve platform health and performance, proactively identifying issues related to discovery reliability, data quality, and scalability.


• Support the evolution of the ServiceNow platform beyond ITOM over time, expanding into broader platform capabilities, integrations, and standards as the team and platform mature.

What well want you to have:

• 5+ years of hands-on ServiceNow engineering experience with a strong focus on ITOM.


• Proven experience with Discovery, CMDB, and MID Server deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting.


• Hands-on cloud engineering experience with one or more major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, and/or GCP), including:


• Understanding of cloud resource models (accounts/subscriptions, regions, VMs, load balancers, managed services, ephemerals, auto-scaling)


• Azure policy configuration & reporting


• Tagging strategies for ownership, environment, and service alignment


• Infrastructure as Code and modern CI/CD approaches


• Experience supporting cloud data ingestion into ServiceNow, such as:


• ACC/Informer and endpoint visibility patterns


• Cloud Discovery and/or Cloud Service Graph Connectors


• Reconciling cloud data with CMDB and CSDM models


• Event Management & Service Mapping experience, including pattern-based methodologies and dependency validation.


• IRE knowledge (identification rules, reconciliation behavior, duplicate prevention/troubleshooting).


• Integration experience with Integration Hub (OOB/custom spokes), scripted REST, and OAuth flows.


• Platform Analytics & data analysis


• Strong troubleshooting skills across infrastructure, cloud, network connectivity, credentials, and data quality issues.


• Experience with ServiceNow scripting (JavaScript), including Business Rules, Script Includes, and Scheduled Jobs.
