We are looking for an experienced Senior ServiceNow Engineer / Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) experience preferred for a Contract-to-Hire opportunity.

Role Summary

The Mid/Senior ServiceNow Engineer is responsible for designing, configuring, implementing, and supporting ServiceNow solutions that enable enterprise business processes, platform scalability, and operational efficiency. This role partners with product owners, architects, business stakeholders, and delivery teams to translate requirements into secure, maintainable, and user-centered ServiceNow capabilities. Experience with ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) is highly preferred and considered a significant advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and implement ServiceNow solutions using platform best practices and scalable architecture principles.
• Develop and maintain workflows, business rules, client scripts, script includes, UI policies, Flow Designer flows, catalog items, forms, lists, and application configurations.
• Build and support integrations with enterprise systems using REST, SOAP, IntegrationHub, web services, and ServiceNow APIs.
• Partner with business stakeholders to understand requirements, document solution options, and translate needs into technical designs.
• Support platform enhancements, production support, defect resolution, upgrades, patching, and operational maintenance activities.
• Participate in solution design reviews, technical governance, code reviews, and release readiness discussions.
• Perform troubleshooting, root cause analysis, performance tuning, and issue remediation across ServiceNow applications and integrations.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, configuration specifications, support procedures, and knowledge articles.
• Partner with testing and business teams to support functional testing, regression testing, UAT, and production validation.
• Identify opportunities to automate manual processes, improve platform reliability, and enhance the user experience.

SPM Knowledge Preferred

Experience with ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management is a strong bonus, especially in environments where ServiceNow is used to support portfolio governance, planning, investment decisions, and delivery execution.

• Demand Management, Project Portfolio Management, Agile Development, Resource Management, and related SPM capabilities.
• Portfolio planning, roadmap management, investment planning, prioritization, and governance workflows.
• Financial planning, cost tracking, forecasting, and portfolio-level reporting within ServiceNow.
• Dashboards, metrics, and executive reporting for portfolio visibility and decision support.
• Understanding of Lean Portfolio Management, SAFe practices, or enterprise portfolio governance processes.
• Ability to support SPM enhancements, configuration, workflow improvements, and stakeholder enablement.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of ServiceNow platform engineering, administration, or development experience, with flexibility for strong mid-level candidates.
• Strong understanding of ServiceNow platform architecture, configuration, security, data model, and development practices.
• Hands-on experience with JavaScript, Flow Designer, ServiceNow APIs, integrations, and automation capabilities.
• Experience designing and supporting enterprise workflows, forms, applications, and integrations.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with technical teams, product owners, and business stakeholders.
• Experience working in Agile, Scrum, or product-based delivery environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management, Project Portfolio Management, or enterprise portfolio delivery.
• Experience supporting large-scale ServiceNow implementations, upgrades, integrations, or platform modernization efforts.
• Familiarity with IT governance, portfolio governance, Lean Portfolio Management, SAFe, or enterprise transformation programs.

Nice to Have

• ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA).
• ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD).
• ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist certifications, especially SPM or related product areas.
