Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. is seeking a Service Technician for Vadinar to diagnose and rectify defects in FDAS and control panels on ships, while performing retrofit and commissioning of AFDS and fire extinguishing systems.

The role includes AMC execution and software troubleshooting on onboard panels. The ideal candidate has 5–7 years of hands-on service experience in marine safety systems, with proficiency in reading manuals, diagrams, and electrical drawings, and a willingness to travel across

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Instrumentation or Electronics Engineering.
• 5–7 years of hands-on service experience.
• Experience servicing addressable fire detection and extinguishing systems (CO₂, FM200, Water Mist, Foam).
• Willingness to travel across Indian ports.
• Excellent communication and report-writing abilities.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and rectify defects in Fire Detection and Alarm Systems (FDAS) and control panels onboard ships.
• Execute retrofit and commissioning for AFDS and fire extinguishing systems.
• Perform annual maintenance contracts (AMC) for AFDS and fire extinguishing systems.
• Troubleshoot software issues within control panels, including program upload/download.
• Interpret manuals, P&ID diagrams and electrical drawings for troubleshooting.

• Analyze onboard logbook data to identify defects and resolutions.
