Job summary

IBA Proton Therapy in Hyderabad is recruiting a PMS Service Engineer to lead installation, calibration and commissioning of the Proton Therapy Centre focused on patient monitoring systems and electro-mechanical equipment.

The role requires a university engineering degree and experience with large systems, PLCs, sensors and high/low voltage equipment. Expect on-site work with shifts; joining a cutting-edge cancer treatment facility in India.

Qualifications

• University degree in engineering (Electronics, Electro-mechanics or Mechanics)
• Relevant technical experience in electronics/electrical system troubleshooting, mechanical system design and repair, and operations of large systems
• Ability to troubleshoot large systems issues
• Ability to work autonomously on well-defined tasks
• Knowledge of local EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) regulations

• Participating in installation of the IBA equipment with focus on electro-mechanical equipment (Gantry, X-Ray, CBCT, patient positioner)
• Testing, calibrating and validating equipment to meet specifications and customer requirements
• Critically analyzing data to diagnose potential technical problems
• Collaborating with subcontractors during installation and commissioning until start-up
• Troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues
• Ensuring the highest quality of state-of-the-art technologies and services

Mission

IBA is hiring the installation team for Hyderabad’s second Proton Therapy (PT) Center. The PT center will be home to IBA Proteus One, featuring a compact one-room solution powered by a superconducting synchrocyclotron. The installation is expected to start between November 2026 and February 2027. It will be delivered within 12 months by an IBA team of 9 motivated individuals. The PMS engineer’s first mission is expected to last ~18 months, including pre-assignment training and support for the site's transition to Operations.

As PMS Service Engineer (Patient Monitoring Systems), you are responsible for installation, calibration and commissioning activities on the Proton Therapy Centre, with a specific focus on the patient electromechanical equipment.

• Participating in the installation of the IBA equipment on the Proton Therapy site with a specific focus on the electro-mechanical equipment (Gantry, X-Ray equipment, CBCT, patient positioner, etc.)
• Testing, calibrating and validating the equipment according to the specifications and ensuring the customer requirements are met in terms of compliance, quality, technical performance and timing
• Critically analyzing data to diagnose potential technical problems
• Collaborating intensively during installation and commissioning phase with subcontractors to supervise the installation until the start-up of equipment
• Troubleshooting the equipment including solving electrical and mechanical issues
• Ensuring the highest quality of state-of-the-art technologies and services
