Job summary

ALTEN India seeks a technical writer for the automotive sector to develop mechanical, electrical, and technical documentation for commercial vehicles. You will translate complex specs into clear manuals and guides for cross-functional teams.

Required: 1-3 years aftermarket truck/transport experience, strong writing and communication skills, and proficiency with word processing, SGML, CAD tools (Pro/Engineer, CATIA) and vector illustration software (CorelDRAW, Illustrator).

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of aftermarket experience with the truck or transportation industry.
• 1-3 years of experience in writing mechanical, electrical, and technical documentation within the automotive segment.
• Automotive knowledge (Conventional Vehicle Sound knowledge).
• Strong writing and communication skills.
• Experience with word processing, SGML language, CAD software (Pro/Engineer, CATIA), and vector-based illustration software (CorelDRAW, Adobe Illustrator).
• Knowledge of different graphic file format conversion types and methods.
• Interpersonal and analytical skills.
• Project management skills, including project planning and oversight as it pertains to technical information development.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Commercial vehicle products is ideal but not mandatory.
• Training for operation on electrical installations in vehicles according to STD 871-0003.

• Knowledge of different graphic file format conversion types and methods
• Strong writing and communication skills.
• Interpersonal and analytical skills.
• Project management skills, including project planning and oversight as it pertains to technical information development.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Commercial vehicle products is ideal but not mandatory.
• Completed adequate training for operation on electrical installations in vehicles according to standard STD 871-0003.
