Job summary

NTT DATA BUSINESS SOLUTIONS in Mumbai seeks an L2 F5 Network Engineer to manage day-to-day operations and support of the F5 load-balancing infrastructure, including LTM for SLB and BIG-IP DNS for GSLB, with focus on availability, performance, and security of banking applications.

You will handle incidents, perform health checks and changes, coordinate with L1/L3 and SOC teams, and ensure compliance with security standards in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• 4–6 years relevant experience.
• In-depth knowledge of F5 BIG-IP LTM/GTM and related protocols.
• Experience with bank-grade security and PCI DSS guidelines.
• Ability to operate in a regulated environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide Level 2 support for DMZ SLBs and perimeter GSLBs, resolving complex issues escalated from L1 teams.
• Perform routine health checks, monitoring, and performance tuning of the load-balancing infra.
• Execute change requests including new virtual servers, pool updates, and iRule adjustments.
• Assist with patching, upgrades, and hardware maintenance of F5 BIG-IP devices, often during non-business hours.
• Enforce security policies and compliance in the banking sector, incl. PCI DSS.
• Coordinate with L1/L3, developers, and project managers as a liaison.
• Support security audits, provide evidence of compliance, and address findings.
• Ensure secure traffic flow through DMZ across data centers with SOC collaboration.
• Analyze incidents, identify root causes, and drive containment and remediation.
• Provide engineering analysis and architectural design of technical solutions.

Job Summary

The L2 F5 Network Engineer is responsible for the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and support of the F5 load-balancing infrastructure. This includes both Local Traffic Manager (LTM) for Server Load Balancing (SLB) and BIG-IP DNS (formerly GTM) for Global Server Load Balancing (GSLB). The role focuses on ensuring high availability, performance, and security of critical banking applications by handling incidents, executing changes, and assisting with problem resolution. The engineer will work within a strict, regulated environment and must adhere to all security and compliance protocols.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide Level 2 support for all incidents and service requests related to DMZ SLBs and perimeter GSLBs, resolving complex issues escalated from L1 teams.
• Perform routine health checks, proactive monitoring, and performance tuning of the load balancing infrastructure.
• Execute change requests for network and security modifications, including new virtual server configurations, pool member updates, and rule/iRule adjustments, following strict change management protocols.
• Assist with regular patching, software upgrades, and hardware maintenance of F5 BIG-IP devices and other related infrastructure, often during non-business hours.
• Implement and enforce network security policies and best practices specific to the banking sector, including PCI DSS and other regulatory requirements.
• Act as a liaison between L1 and L3 support teams, developers, and project managers.
• Assist with security audits, provide evidence of compliance, and address any security or vulnerability findings related to the load balancing environment.
• Ensure application traffic flows securely through the DMZ and across multiple data centers, coordinating with Security Operations Center (SOC) teams as needed.
• Shall analyze incidents identify root causes and act for containment and remediation.
• Shall co-ordinate with the different departments/stakeholders for incident analysis and remedial action.
• Provides engineering analysis and architectural design of technical solutions.
• Strong, hands-on experience with enterprise-grade load balancers, preferably F5 BIG-IP LTM (Local Traffic Manager) and GTM (Global Traffic Manager).
