Job summary

Grow India Tech in Pune is seeking an SEO & Search Marketing specialist with 1–3 years of hands-on experience to drive optimization across content, on-page elements and technical audits. You will work on AEO, GEO and basic schema, and manage WordPress publishing.

You will monitor performance in Google Search Console and GA4, use Ahrefs or Semrush, and contribute to weekly reporting for clients. This role offers a path to deepen expertise in AI-driven search and content strategy.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of hands-on SEO experience in an agency or in-house environment.
• Understanding of AI search dynamics — how ChatGPT, Perplexity and AI Overviews answer prompts versus traditional SERP links.
• Proficiency with Google Search Console and Google Analytics 4.
• Familiarity with SEO tools such as Ahrefs, Semrush, Moz or Ubersuggest.
• Practical WordPress knowledge, including Rank Math or Yoast SEO.
• Strong English writing and proofreading skills for readability and keyword placement.
• Basic understanding of HTML/CSS for formatting troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with Schema markup generators.
• Experience running prompt tests on AI models to evaluate brand visibility.

Responsibilities

• SEO and content optimisation (50%): keyword research and mapping across primary, secondary and long-tail queries.
• Optimise on-page elements: title tags, meta descriptions, H1-H6 headings, image alt text and internal linking.
• Run basic technical SEO audits for broken links, crawl errors, duplicate content and missing meta tags.
• Monitor impressions, clicks, CTR and rankings in Google Search Console and Google Analytics 4.
• GEO and AEO strategy (30%): format content into Q&A, bulleted lists and tables to win Featured Snippets, People Also Ask and voice search.
• Apply GEO techniques so company and client content is cited as a trusted source in AI search responses.
• Implement basic Schema markup (JSON-LD) for FAQs, products, articles and local business data.
• WordPress content management (10%): upload, format and schedule blog posts and landing pages in Gutenberg or Elementor.
• Configure SEO plugin settings in Yoast, Rank Math or All in One SEO, and keep tags, categories and media organised.
• Off-page and reporting (10%): assist with link-building outreach, directory submissions and guest blogging.
• Support weekly and monthly SEO performance reporting and competitor benchmarking.

About the role

Search is evolving well beyond traditional Google rankings. In this role you will not only execute foundational Search Engine Optimisation, but also optimise content for Answer Engine Optimisation (AEO — AI snippets, voice search and direct answers) and Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO — visibility inside LLM search tools such as ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity).
