Zapro AI is an AI-native source-to-pay platform that brings procurement, vendor management, and AP automation onto one system, covering everything from onboarding a vendor to settling their invoice. Teams worldwide use Zapro AI to manage vendors with less manual work, from onboarding and contracts to purchase orders and invoices.
We're looking for an SEO/GEO Lead to build Zapro AI's SEO framework from the ground up and grow the company's visibility.
About the role
The SEO & AIO Lead owns how our brand is found and cited, in Google and in AI answer engines. That means classic organic search (rankings, traffic, conversions) plus AI visibility in Google AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot and Claude.
You will set the search strategy, lead a small team, and turn organic visibility into pipeline: demo requests, sign-ups and MQLs. This is a hands‑on leadership role — you will audit, write briefs and fix technical issues yourself while building systems the team can scale.
Key responsibilities
- Own the annual and quarterly organic growth roadmap, tied to traffic, AI visibility and pipeline targets.
- Build topic clusters, pillar–cluster architecture and keyword ownership maps by ICP, vertical and funnel stage.
- Prioritise work by impact vs effort: quick wins, content refreshes, new pages and authority plays.
- Run competitor analysis on rankings, content gaps, backlinks and AI citation share.
2. Technical SEO
- Run regular site audits: crawlability, indexation, Core Web Vitals, canonicals, hreflang, redirects and site speed.
- Own XML sitemaps, robots.txt, llms.txt, internal linking and URL structure.
- Implement and validate structured data (Organization, Product, SoftwareApplication, FAQ, HowTo, Article, Breadcrumb).
3. AIO / GEO (AI search optimisation)
- Track brand mentions and citations across Google AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Copilot.
- Structure content for AI extraction: answer-first paragraphs, definitions, comparison tables, statistics and FAQs.
- Strengthen entity SEO — knowledge panel, consistent brand facts, Wikidata, schema and author profiles.
- Grow off‑site citation sources AI engines rely on: G2, Capterra, Reddit, YouTube, analyst reports and industry publications.
- Report AI share of voice against competitors for priority prompts every month.
- Own content briefs: search intent, outline, entities, FAQs, internal links, schema and word‑count rationale.
- Review and approve content for SEO, E‑E‑A‑T, accuracy and brand voice before publishing.
- Optimise titles, meta descriptions, H1–H3s, images and on‑page copy across product, solution and blog pages.
- Run a content decay programme: find declining pages and refresh, merge or redirect them.
- Fix keyword cannibalisation and keep one owner page per search intent.
- Plan link building through digital PR, data studies, guest contributions and partner co‑marketing.
- Monitor the backlink profile and remove or disavow toxic links.
- Manage review platform profiles (G2, Capterra, Gartner) for SEO and AI citation value.
6. Analytics, reporting & CRO
- Own GA4, Google Search Console, Bing Webmaster Tools and rank tracking setup.
- Deliver weekly and monthly reports on traffic, rankings, AI visibility, conversions and organic‑sourced pipeline.
- Run CRO and A/B tests on high‑traffic landing pages to lift demo and sign‑up conversion.
- Attribute organic and AI‑referred traffic to MQLs, SQLs and revenue with the RevOps team.
7. Team leadership
- Lead, hire and mentor SEO executives, content writers and freelancers.
- Set team goals, SOPs, checklists and QA processes.
- Introduce AI tools and workflows that speed up research, briefs and audits without dropping quality.
- Manage agency and vendor relationships where needed.
8. Cross-functional collaboration
- Work with Product Marketing on positioning, with Design and Web on page builds, and with Sales/SDRs on lead quality.
- Support Paid Search with keyword insights and organic‑paid gap analysis.
- Brief leadership on search trends, Google algorithm updates and AI search changes, with a clear action plan.
Required skills & qualifications
- 5–10 years of hands‑on SEO experience, ideally in B2B SaaS or enterprise technology.
- At least 2 years leading SEO strategy, a team or multiple client accounts.
- Proven record of growing organic traffic and leads — share 2–3 case studies with before/after numbers.
- Working knowledge of AIO/GEO: how AI Overviews and LLMs select and cite sources, and how to measure AI visibility.
- Deep understanding of search intent, topical authority, entity SEO and E‑E‑A‑T.
- Ability to write and review content briefs, and to judge content quality.
- Comfortable with data: GA4, GSC, Looker Studio, and Excel/Google Sheets (pivots, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, regex).
- Clear communicator who can explain SEO impact to leadership in business terms (pipeline, CAC, ROI).
Nice to have
- Experience with programmatic SEO at scale (templated pages, 1,000+ URLs).
- International and multilingual SEO, including hreflang and localisation.
- YouTube SEO and video optimisation for AI citations.
- Python or Apps Script for automating audits, reports or GSC/API data pulls.
- Experience with enterprise buyer journeys and long sales cycles (CIO / procurement / IT personas).
- Google Analytics or HubSpot certifications.
