Job summary

Qualifications

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Test Senior Specialist with strong expertise in Manual Testing to join our QA team in Bengaluru. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality of software applications by preparing test scenarios, executing test cases, identifying defects, and working closely with project teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

This role requires someone who can take ownership of testing activities, guide team members where needed, and work collaboratively with developers, business analysts, delivery managers, and other stakeholders. The candidate should have a strong understanding of the software testing life cycle, defect life cycle, and quality processes within an Agile or project-based delivery environment.

As a senior member of the QA function, the Test Senior Specialist will play an important role in improving test coverage, maintaining testing standards, supporting delivery timelines, and ensuring that the final product meets business and customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Review business requirements and prepare comprehensive test scenarios and test cases.
• Execute manual testing activities including functional, integration, system, regression, and user acceptance testing.
• Identify, log, track, and verify defects using defect management tools.
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to ensure timely issue resolution and high-quality releases.
• Provide test status updates, highlight risks, and support release validation activities.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong hands-on experience in Manual Testing.
• Good understanding of Software Testing Life Cycle, Defect Life Cycle, and QA processes.
• Experience in preparing test scenarios, test cases, test data, and test execution reports.
• Strong experience in functional testing, regression testing, integration testing, system testing, and UAT support.
• Experience using test management and defect tracking tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, ALM, or similar platforms.
• Ability to understand business requirements and convert them into effective test cases.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned testing activities.
• Experience working in Agile, Scrum, or project-based delivery environments.
• Ability to guide or support junior QA team members when required.
• Comfortable working in a hybrid workspace model based in Bengaluru.

Educational Qualification

• Must have completed a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or any related discipline.

Desirable Skills & Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of API testing using tools such as Postman.
• Basic understanding of SQL and database validation.
• Exposure to automation testing concepts would be an added advantage.
• Experience working with client-facing projects.
• ISTQB Foundation certification or equivalent testing certification is preferred.
• Experience in testing web applications, enterprise applications, or digital platforms.
