Job summary

Resillion is seeking a Senior Manual Test Engineer to join our Bengaluru-based Quality Assurance team in a hybrid work setup. You will lead manual testing activities, design test strategies, and collaborate with product and development teams to deliver high-quality software.

The role requires 5–7 years of hands-on testing experience, strong SQL and API testing skills, and a solid understanding of defect management and test lifecycle.

Job Title: Senior Manual Test Engineer

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior Manual Test Engineer with 5 to 7 years of experience and a strong understanding of software testing fundamentals.

The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience managing testing activities from requirement analysis through to test closure. This role requires strong knowledge of database testing, SQL, API testing, API integration, and defect management.

The successful candidate will work closely with product, development, business, and other quality engineering teams to ensure complete test coverage and the delivery of reliable, high‑quality software solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Tricentis Tosca.
• Execute functional, regression, integration, and end‑to‑end testing for SAP applications.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and SAP teams to understand requirements and test scenarios.
• Analyse defects, support issue resolution, and ensure application quality.
• Create and maintain reusable automation components and test assets.
• Support test planning, execution, and release validation activities.
• Ensure adequate test coverage and adherence to quality standards.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5 to 7 years of experience in manual software testing.
• Strong understanding of software testing fundamentals, techniques, and best practices.
• Proven experience managing end‑to‑end testing activities.
• Hands‑on experience in test planning, estimation, execution, tracking, and reporting.
• Strong experience in functional, regression, system, integration, and end‑to‑end testing.
• Practical experience in database testing and writing SQL queries.
• Hands‑on experience testing REST APIs using Postman or similar tools.
• Experience in API integration testing across multiple applications or product platforms.
• Strong knowledge of defect management, investigation, triage, retesting, and closure.
• Ability to analyse application logs, API responses, and database records during defect investigation.
• Experience working with product, development, business, and other testing teams.
• Good understanding of the software development lifecycle and software testing lifecycle.
• Experience working in Agile or Scrum delivery environments.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Desirable Skills & Qualifications

• Experience using test management and defect‑tracking tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar.
• Familiarity with JSON, XML, Swagger, and OpenAPI documentation.
• Basic understanding of test automation concepts and frameworks.
• Experience testing web‑based, cloud‑based, or enterprise applications.
• Basic knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and software release processes.
• Experience providing testing guidance or support to junior team members.
• ISTQB Foundation or Advanced Level certification.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
