Responsibilities

• Own or contribute to the QA approach across the SDLC, defining scope, objectives, test levels/types, environments, data needs, risks, and entry/exit criteria
• Prepare test plans and estimates for features, enhancements, integrations, and releases
• Design, review, and execute positive, negative, boundary, integration, regression, exploratory, usability, and end-to-end test cases
• Use AI agents/tools for test-case generation, test data preparation, and execution/analysis, validating AI output through QA judgment
• Manage the defect lifecycle, including logging, triage, prioritization, tracking, regression testing, release-readiness assessment, and post-release/hypercare validation
• Partner with stakeholders, product owners, and SMEs in requirements gathering, refinement, and solution walkthroughs
• Write user stories, acceptance criteria, business rules, and functional requirements; identify gaps, risks, and dependencies
• Translate business requirements into testable scenarios and measurable quality outcomes
• Test web and desktop applications, including cross-browser/device testing, installs, upgrades, and integrations
• Validate workflows, data flows, UI, integrations, and error handling
• Perform database testing including CRUD, data integrity, mappings, stored procedures, and backend-to-frontend reconciliation
• Build and maintain automated tests using Playwright with TypeScript/JavaScript
• Establish a Selenium automation framework from scratch using Java or a suitable language
• Use AI-assisted tools such as Claude Code for automation design, code generation, and debugging
• Select automation candidates, balance automated testing with manual, exploratory, and risk-based testing, and integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines
• Monitor automation reliability and reduce flaky tests
• Participate in stand-ups, planning, refinement, retrospectives, demos, and release reviews
• Communicate quality risks, blockers, and progress proactively
• Promote quality ownership, knowledge sharing, mentoring, and process improvement

Requirements

• Experience required: 5-12 years
• Senior-level experience in QA/test engineering across web, desktop, API, and device testing
• Proven end-to-end QA process experience: requirements → planning → release → hypercare
• Experience writing user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional/testable requirements
• Strong manual testing background: functional, integration, regression, system, E2E, exploratory, and risk-based testing
• Hands-on Playwright automation using TypeScript/JavaScript
• Strong Selenium knowledge with ability to build a framework from scratch; familiarity with Java
• Database testing and cross-layer data validation experience
• Experience with complex, integrated applications and business processes
• Experience using AI tools/agents for test generation, automation, or analysis
• Strong defect analysis, troubleshooting, documentation, and stakeholder communication skills
• Preferred: CI/CD integration of automated tests and API/service-level testing
• Preferred: test management, defect tracking, source control, and reporting tools
