Happiest Minds Technologies in India is seeking a skilled Manual and Automation Test Engineer to strengthen the QA team. The role requires hands-on testing expertise and the ability to design, develop, and maintain robust automation frameworks using Java, Selenium, RestAssured, and TestNG.

You will implement Cucumber BDD, validate REST/GraphQL APIs, perform cross-browser testing, and integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins and Maven, driving quality across releases.

• 5+ years of experience in manual testing and test automation.
• Experience with Selenium WebDriver and Java.
• Experience building API automation with RestAssured and GraphQL.
• Strong SQL skills for data validation.

Job Title: Manual and Automation Test Engineer

We are looking for a highly skilled Automation Engineer with a strong background in manual and automation testing to join our dynamic QA team. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience in designing, developing, and maintaining automation frameworks, along with expertise in various testing tools and technologies to ensure high-quality software delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Execution of manual testing using test design techniques and requirement analysis.
• End to End functional and technical understanding of application and its integrated 3rd party applications.
• Identification of test scenarios, create test cases, and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
• Develop, execute, and maintain UI automation scripts using Selenium WebDriver (Java) and TestNG, including test grouping, parallel execution, and reporting.
• Build robust UI and API automation frameworks from scratch using Java, Selenium, RestAssured, TestNG, Maven, and best practices in design.
• Design and implement Cucumber BDD frameworks for scalable, behavior‑driven testing.
• Automate and validate REST and GraphQL APIs (queries, mutations, schema validation) using RestAssured.
• Execute cross‑browser testing and automate database validation using SQL.
• Manage automated tests with TestNG, including parallel runs, grouping, parameterization, retry logic, and detailed reporting.
• Collaborate with developers and product owners to refine requirements and improve overall software quality.
• Integrate automation suites into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Maven) for continuous testing.
• Continuously enhance and maintain automation frameworks for scalability, reusability, and performance.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in manual testing, execution tracking, and defect reporting.
• Experience using JIRA for defect tracking and Xray/Zephyr for test management
• Proven hands‑on experience of 2 years in Automation using Selenium WebDriver and Java.
• Experience building and maintaining Cucumber BDD frameworks.
• Strong expertise in API automation using RestAssured and GraphQL.
• Solid understanding of core Java, OOP principles, debugging, and clean code practices.
• Strong SQL skills for database validation and automation.
• Experience with TestNG, including annotations, execution management, and reporting.
• Hands‑on experience with Git for version control.
• Working knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.

Preferred Skills (Good To Have)

• Experience with Playwright, Cypress, or other modern automation tools.
• Knowledge of Python scripting for automation utilities.
• Exposure to API contract/schema validation frameworks.
• Experience conducting performance testing using JMeter.
• Familiarity with Docker, cloud testing platforms (BrowserStack, Sauce Labs), or containerized test execution.
