Job summary

Develop, enhance, and maintain automated test equipment (ATE) applications using NI LabVIEW and NI TestStand at MKS Instruments, Inc. in Bengaluru, India. Design and troubleshoot electrical circuits, create wiring diagrams, and participate in design reviews to meet engineering standards.

Join a team focused on product development, manufacturing objectives, and continuous improvement; travel internationally may be required for project assignments and collaboration with global teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electronics, Electrical, Instrumentation, Mechatronics, or Telecommunications).
  • Minimum of 6+ years of experience in test engineering, automation, and LabVIEW-based application development.
  • Strong hands‑on experience with NI LabVIEW and NI TestStand development environments.
  • Solid understanding of ATE design architectures, advanced test methodologies, and measurement instrumentation.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and develop electrical and electronic schematics.
  • NI LabVIEW CLD or CLA certification is required.
  • Experience with statistical and data analysis tools such as Minitab is preferred.
  • Exposure to version control systems such as GitHub, Perforce, or SVN, and dashboard/reporting tools such as Power BI is an added advantage.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving capabilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills in English.
  • Willingness to travel for both short‑term and long‑term assignments in the United States, Mexico, and Malaysia.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, enhance, and maintain medium to complex Automated Test Equipment (ATE) applications using NI LabVIEW and NI TestStand.
  • Design, analyze, and troubleshoot electrical and electronic circuits, including the creation of ATE electrical interconnect diagrams and wiring documentation.
  • Participate in software design reviews and code reviews to ensure compliance with engineering standards, quality requirements, and best practices.
  • Integrate and support a variety of test and measurement instruments, including oscilloscopes, digital multimeters (DMMs), NI DAQ devices, and NI PXI platforms.
  • Contribute to project planning, execution, and technical problem‑solving activities to support product development and manufacturing objectives.

Key Responsibilities
