Job description

Description

About the Role

The oil, gas and chemical sector is undergoing a profound and accelerating transformation. To maintain a competitive edge in an increasingly dynamic market, our organization is embracing digitalization and automation to enhance operational efficiency, improve safety standards, and drive long-term sustainability goals. This role is not merely about writing code or managing systems — it is about fundamentally reshaping how we operate. You will stand at the forefront of this transformation, harnessing cutting-edge technology to solve complex challenges: from optimizing production workflows and predicting maintenance needs, to ensuring the security and resilience of our critical infrastructure.

We are seeking a highly motivated, innovative, and results-driven Senior Technology Solution Specialist to join our technology team. In this pivotal role, you will design, develop, and deploy software solutions that power our digital initiatives — playing a crucial part in building, implementing, and maintaining technologies that elevate our engineering processes to new heights.

Key Responsibilities
  1. 1. Software Development & Solution Architecture

    • Design, develop, and deploy scalable full-stack software applications supporting digital transformation initiatives across the oil, gas and chemical value chain.

    • Lead end-to-end solution design from requirements gathering through architecture, development, testing, and production deployment.

    • Build robust APIs, microservices, and data pipelines using Python and modern development frameworks.

    • Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies, tools, and frameworks to improve solution quality and delivery speed.

  2. 2. Data Engineering & Analytics Platforms

    • Develop and manage data solutions on Microsoft Databricks and Data verse, including data ingestion, transformation, modelling, and analytics workflows.

    • Build and maintain data pipelines that enable real-time monitoring, predictive maintenance models, and production optimization dashboards.

    • Ensure data quality, governance, and security across all digital platforms and data assets.

    • Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to productionize machine learning models and analytical tools.

  3. 3. Cloud Infrastructure & DevOps

    • Design, deploy, and manage cloud-based solutions on Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP), following best practices for reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency.

    • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and DevOps practices to accelerate delivery.

    • Monitor system health, performance, and security; proactively identify and resolve issues to ensure operational continuity.

    • Manage infrastructure-as-code, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and cloud-native architectures.

  4. 4. Collaboration Platforms & Knowledge Management

    • Design, configure, and manage Microsoft SharePoint solutions for document management, team collaboration, and internal portals.

    • Develop automation workflows and integrations between SharePoint, Teams, and other enterprise systems to streamline operations.

    • Champion digital workspace best practices and drive user adoption of collaboration tools across the organization.

  5. 5. Agile Delivery & Project Management

    • Act as Scrum Master for agile delivery teams, facilitating sprint ceremonies, managing backlogs, and removing impediments to ensure consistent delivery.

    • Manage project workflows using Jira and Confluence — maintaining transparency, tracking progress, and providing stakeholder reporting.

    • Mentor team members on agile methodologies, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and iterative delivery.

    • Coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders including engineers, operations, HSE, and business leaders to align technology solutions with organizational objectives.

  6. 6. Innovation & Continuous Improvement

    • Proactively identify opportunities to apply digital technologies — including IoT, AI/ML, automation, and advanced analytics — to enhance safety, efficiency, and sustainability.

    • Lead proof-of-concept initiatives and technology pilots, translating business challenges into scalable digital solutions.

    • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements relevant to the oil, gas and chemical sector.

Required Technical Skills
  • The ideal candidate should possess strong technical expertise in Full Stack Development, Python, Microsoft Databricks & Data verse, Azure Deployment, GCP & DevOps, Microsoft SharePoint, Agile/Scrum methodologies, Jira & Confluence, and CI/CD Pipelines.

1. Full Stack Development
  • Proficiency in front-end technologies: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript, and modern frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.

  • Strong back-end development experience with RESTful APIs, Node.js, .NET, or similar server-side technologies.

  • Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cosmos DB).

2. Python
  • Advanced Python programming skills for application development, data engineering, automation, and scripting.

  • Experience with Python libraries for data processing and analytics (Pandas, NumPy, PySpark, SQLAlchemy).

3. Microsoft Databricks & Data verse
  • Hands-on experience building and managing Databricks workspaces, Delta Lake, and Spark-based data pipelines.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Data verse for data modelling, integration, and Power Platform solutions.

4. Azure Deployment
  • Proven ability to architect, deploy, and manage cloud solutions on Microsoft Azure (App Services, ADF, Azure Functions, AKS, Azure DevOps).

  • Experience with Azure security, identity management (AAD), networking, and monitoring tools.

5. GCP & DevOps
  • Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform services (BigQuery, Cloud Run, GKE, Pub/Sub).

  • Strong DevOps practices: CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and version control with Git.

6. Microsoft SharePoint
  • Experience designing and configuring SharePoint Online sites, libraries, lists, and workflows.

  • Ability to develop custom SharePoint solutions and Power Automate integrations.

7. Agile Project Management — Scrum Master
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM or equivalent) with practical experience leading agile ceremonies in cross-functional teams.

  • Proficient in Jira for sprint management, backlog grooming, and reporting; Confluence for documentation and knowledge management.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • 6 to 10 years of progressive experience in software development and IT, with demonstrated leadership on complex technology projects.

  • Experience within the oil, gas, chemical, or broader energy and industrial sectors is highly desirable.

  • Strong understanding of OT/IT convergence, industrial IoT, and digital twin concepts is a plus.

  • Relevant certifications (Azure, GCP, Databricks, Scrum Master) are advantageous.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.

  • A self-starter with strong analytical thinking, problem-solving capability, and a passion for technology-driven innovation.

What We Offer
  • A high-impact role at the center of the digital transformation of a critical global industry.

  • Opportunity to work with advanced technology stacks across cloud, data, and automation domains.

  • Collaborative and inclusive work culture that values innovation, continuous learning, and professional growth.
