Job summary

Burns & McDonnell India is seeking a piping design professional based in Mumbai to support complex EPC projects in the Oil, Gas & Chemicals sector. You will develop 3D piping models in S3D, perform isometrics checks, and coordinate with multiple disciplines to ensure code-compliant designs.

You will also work with BMI quality documents, leverage project databases, and apply piping/material selection knowledge. The role offers on-site engagement with potential hybrid elements per policy.

Qualifications

• ITI Mechanical Draftsman or Diploma in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
• Piping Design & Engineering course from a reputable institute
• Minimum three years' experience in S3D and two years' experience in LFM

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Area Lead to create detailed piping designs per project specs and standards
• Create accurate 3D piping models and layouts using S3D
• Apply AutoCAD skills as a valuable asset to project execution
• Ensure designs comply with industry codes, standards, and client requirements
• Demonstrate familiarity with standard discipline deliverables and work processes
• Utilize BMI quality system documents to enhance discipline workflows
• Leverage project databases to optimize designs
• Perform nozzle orientation and comment on Vendor Drawings (VDRs)
• Design equipment arrangements and piping layouts; select piping and valve materials
• Act as a Q4 checker for isometric drawings
• Coordinate with other disciplines for integrated project delivery
• Maintain records of designs and iterations
• Review and revise designs based on stakeholder feedback

Your Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with the Area Lead or Lead to create detailed piping designs that adhere to project specifications and industry standards.
• Utilize S3D software to create accurate 3D piping models and layouts.
• Apply AutoCAD skills as a valuable advantage to project execution.
• Ensure designs comply with industry codes, standards, and client requirements.
• Demonstrate familiarity with standard discipline deliverables and work processes on projects.
• Effectively utilize BMI quality system documents to enhance work processes within the discipline.
• Leverage databases of previous projects efficiently to optimize designs.
• Apply good engineering practices related to discipline work.
• Perform nozzle orientation, comment on Vendor Drawings (VDRs), and design equipment arrangements and piping layouts.
• Act as a Q4 checker for isometric drawings.
• Understand methods of design, fabrication, and operation of engineered features within the discipline, including the selection of appropriate piping and valve materials.
• Understand the roles played by other disciplines on projects to ensure cross-functional alignment.
• Review and revise designs based on feedback from stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate records of designs, iterations, and changes.
• Coordinate with other design disciplines to ensure integrated project delivery.

Qualifications

Educational Qualification: ITI Mechanical Draftsman course, or a Diploma in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
